UVALDE, Texas -- Salvador Ramos told girls he would rape them, showed off a rifle he bought, and threatened to shoot up schools in livestreams on the social media app Yubo, according to several users who witnessed the threats in recent weeks.

But those users -- all teens -- told CNN that they didn't take him seriously until they saw the news that Ramos had gunned down 19 children and two adults at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, this week.

Three users said they witnessed Ramos threaten to commit sexual violence or carry out school shootings on Yubo, an app that is used by tens of millions of young people around the world.

The users all said they reported Ramos' account to Yubo over the threats. But it appeared, they said, that Ramos was able to maintain a presence on the platform. CNN reviewed one Yubo direct message in which Ramos allegedly sent a user the $2,000 receipt for his online gun purchase from a Georgia-based firearm manufacturer.

1. Section 230 protects social media companies from any suits for the content posted on their platforms. It's time to REPEAL Section 230 of the CDA. 2. CNN lying here about the firearm purchase. It is not possible for a citizen to purchase a firearm directly over the internet.

What’s really sad is this piece of human excrement is the newest hero of the Commie Lib Snowflakes. Right up there with George Floyd.

I’ve noticed that trend, these progressive liberals are living in a utopia and they can’t burst out of that bubble. These are the people raised in a generation that being 2nd place in sports is equal treatment for all and trophies for everyone. If they don’t get their way then they act like children and start rioting, protesting violently, get in your face and scream bloody murder, etc. Ahem, wasn’t it not that long ago that they were calling Vietnam vets “baby killers” and now they are the saying who they truly are on abortion?

The disgusting MSM the other day was fawning over the executive order Bidet signed for the George Floyd bill, they had guests come on and talk about how he was a “good man with a heart” and other nauseating commentary, but never mentioned his criminal past or abusive behavior, physically or with drug abuse. What needs to happen is bring back the “seal of good practice” for every element of media. Too many people are couch potatoes and media zombies.

IF GEORGE FLOYD was a “GOOD MAN WITH A HEART”

This country has lost all standards of decency.

I wonder if one could criticize the jab on Yugo?

“CNN lying here about the firearm purchase. It is not possible for a citizen to purchase a firearm directly over the internet.”

You can. You just have to select the FFL where you pick it up.

“You just have to select the FFL where you pick it up.”

That’s my point.

It’s not a direct purchase.

This website is protected by section 230.

“This website is protected by section 230.”

I’m pretty sure this site is a non-profit 503C.

That is not correct.
It is not relevant to Section 230 protection at all.
If this site was not protected by section 230, FreeRepublic LLC would have been sued for every defamatory post made on this site.

Thanks for that info.

I don’t want free-speech websites prosecuted. I do feel that if you make direct threats to murder or commit terrorist acts it should trigger an alarm and reported to the police. Certain words can trigger an algorithm. Threats made against the innocent lives of children in schools should require mandatory confiscation of all weaponry and a significant prison sentence. No more waiting for them to actually do it. No decent person would even SAY these things.

Also, it is time for parents to rise up. If the school board cannot protect the children, they must do so themselves. Go patrol the school. Take turns with others. These people must face a risk to themselves, or they will continue. They only pick on children cuz they are unable to fight back.

You’d think other people upon seeing and hearing these public lunatic rants would speak up. That way someone with a brain could have had a long conversation with this kid.

“Ramos allegedly sent a user the $2,000 receipt for his online gun purchase from a Georgia-based firearm manufacturer.”

That’s described as direct.
