CCHR campaign launched to educate law enforcement, policy makers and school officials about violence- and suicide-inducing drug risks

LOS ANGELES, March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The mental health watchdog group, Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) International is offering Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) and school officials a free copy of its compelling new report about a common denominator found in many mass shootings: psychotropic drugs. The report, called Psychiatric Drugs Create Violence & Suicide: School Shootings & Other Acts of Senseless Violence, provides information on more than 30 studies that link antidepressants, antipsychotics, psychostimulants, mood stabilizers and sedative hypnotics to adverse effects that include hostility, mania, aggression, self-harm, suicide and homicidal thoughts.

The 64-page report details more than 60 examples of school and mass shootings, stabbings and senseless violent acts committed by those under the influence of psychotropic drugs or experiencing serious withdrawal from them.

Jan Eastgate, President of CCHR International, said, "The goal of this report is to help law enforcement, educators and policy makers to learn how psychotropic drugs are a hidden link to the prevalence of violence and suicide in the community. Facts, statistics, studies and expert opinion in the report show the medical concerns about the rise of senseless acts of violence coincident with the increase in psychotropic drug prescriptions and usage.

"Psychiatric drugs create dependence, suicide and violence in a percent of individuals taking them. That is a documented fact. The disastrous consequences are felt by all. As so many lives are at stake, it is vital that each person who is in a position to take action avail themselves of this information to help protect our communities."

This will be lost down the memory hole in short order. The truth can’t get out. Big pharma stands to lose a lot of money.

Would it be bad to prevent people from purchasing firearms if they are taking psycho drugs?

Not just Big Pharma, but also Big Cannabis. Just yesterday the NYT memory-holed (in one of its own articles) a reference to Salvador Ramos “smoking weed.”

Normally the left would embrace the chance to sue Pharmaceutical companies.

But after the success of the Covid money machine, clamping down on big pharma seems doubtful.

This article has been online for almost 10 years - since 2013:

Every Mass Shooting Shares One Thing In Common & It’s NOT Weapons

The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.

https://www.ammoland.com/2013/04/every-mass-shooting-in-the-last-20-years-shares-psychotropic-drugs/

So yes, is has been memory-holed - for a long long time. The government would prefer to blame guns - instead of pharmaceutical drugs given so freely to young people - so they can disarm us all.

It's shocking how many of our children are on heavy-duty anti-depressants or anti-anxiety drugs. Speaking as a public school teacher of 33 years.

I seriously thought it already was against the law to buy guns if you were being treated for certain mental illnesses.
A friend of mine had developed schizophrenia at the age of 35. He lost his job teaching math in high schools.

He told me himself that he would not be able to keep his small collection of guns now, so he took them back to the family home in Illinois. This was about 20 years ago.

I don’t know how that could be enforceable. Background checks now can barely cover being involuntarily committed to a mental hospital, or if a court or government body declares him mentally incompetent.

..senseless violent acts committed by those under the influence of psychotropic drugs..

This point is lost and purposely buried by the MSM/Democrat/Communists.

Long past time for somebody to shine a light on this travesty. And a travesty it is.

I recall how difficult it was growing the late 60s thru early 80s dealing with my social akwardness, peer pressure, and the physical and psychological changes in my mind and body. But like most people I was able to successfully navigate that part of my life but cannot imagine doing so today.

Children are very resilient, but in today’s society with the constant bombardment of social media, leftist indoctrination at school, the LQBTXZ123 indoctrination, the proliferation and easy access to illicit drugs, school shootings and the ever present threat of being doped up on psychotropic meds on the insistence of a mental health professional, I don’t think I would have survived past the age of 18. I probably would have killed myself. Seriously.

I pity them, and thank the Lord my kids survived their adolescence and teenage years and came out of it in one piece. Private parochial schooling was a big part of their survival in my opinion.

I both pity and pray for kids today. The deck is stacked against them.

The CIA gave up on LSD in the 60s.

They’ve settled on this stuff.

I’m sure the government would go for that since almost half the population is on some sort of anti-depressant or anti-anxiety med.

The NICs form has a section about being mentally defective, but it has to be done through a court (adjudicated)

People have a right to defend themselves. Keeping guns out of the hands of the insane makes sense but it has to be done the right way. Not everyone on antidepressants is insane or defective. I’m not sure how you arrange “the right way” outside of more court cases to adjudicate someone as defective. The government would absolutely love to turn that into everyone having to be assessed and adjudicated as defective\non-defective before being allowed to purchase. Ultimate gun control right there. This would create a caste system in the US, which shouldn’t be allowed and the vast majority of the population would be on the losing end of the decision. It would maybe start out as whatever low low number but over the years things like social media posts and traffic tickets would be added into the equation. Because this sort mission creep ALWAYS 100% of the time happens when the government is the enemy of the people as we have in the US now.

Maybe the answer is to stop prescribing these meds so much. Find out why a person has depression or anxiety and deal with that issue instead of covering it up with chemicals. Some people are clinically depressed and my understanding of that is that their body does not produce enough of whatever chemical or hormone for them to not be depressed. That should be something that could be determined with a blood test, not just from a verbal assessment and observation. Outside of that chemical production issue no one should be given these medications because they are too damaging and dangerous.

I mentioned earlier that a problem is that people are given drugs to take that are effective, but they don’t take them.

Medical treatment, deterrence, punishment, and elimination from society are all tools to be used.
