Here’s an idea: a Constitutional amendment - not to overturn the 17th, but one to add an additional 50 U.S. senators, each appointed by the individual state legislatures - to be pushed through following this fall’s election, provided that the Republicans have landslide victories. This move could prevent the President from being able to stack the Supreme Court almost indefinitely, and rein in this resident’s radical agenda.
