A Northern California school district is reimposing indoor mask requirements for students, staff and visitors amid an uptick in COVID-19 cases.
The Berkeley Unified School District on Friday said the new mandate go into effect on Monday, citing the advice of health officials.
"As you can see above, Dr. Hernandez has strongly recommended that the district use our authority to reinstate a mask mandate," district Superintendent Brent Stephens said about a message he received from city Health Officer Lisa Hernandez earlier in the week. "Because we are not a health agency, we must rely on these experts to guide us."

All of this was predicted last year.
Students in my kid’s school are dropping like flies. 24 out of 800 kids sick last week alone and those are the ones we know about. The High School had 54 kids sick last week out of around 1300. Nurse says they are very busy and that the kids who come to them during the day actually have symptoms. A young man who sits next to my son in a science class came to school for at least 2 days last week, contagious before he finally tested positive. That kid did wear a mask and we don’t know of anyone in the class who has gotten sick yet (If they make it to Tuesday, they should be in the clear).
The problem with kids getting sick and spreading is that they bring it back home to parents and grandparents. My family has a member with a significant medical issue, which if they caught COVID could result in death, so we have to be pretty vigilant. One of the gentlemen who died of Covid nearby me, apparently got it from one of his kids who brought it home.

This is how diseases go, to allow humans to become immune you follow the natural course of things. Remember 99.9% of people survive. This is just a bad cold/flu, not anything to panic over. Take the vitamins and minerals recommended in the MATH+ protocol. If people do not have the necessary treatment materials, that is on them and the government who poo poohed treatment instead of fake shots, masks and a fake test.
My wife is a substitute teacher. Some of her 1st grade classes are wiped out as in half the students are out.
Surprised the school system hasn’t gone overboard and mandated masks.
She and I aren’t too worried about it as we’ve both had it over the past few years.

They’re beginning to ramp-up for November.
Just curious, but what is your suggestion for fixing the problem? Do you agree with masking children even though Fauci and the CDC are on record stating masks are useless?

I have yet to read that cases=equal increase in severe illness and hospitalizations.

Stock up on ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine and Vitamin D.
During these infection spikes, Schools should have a remote option for kids that test positive or have a family member positive, at risk students or those with at risk people in their home. Most kids can carry on as normal and those who need to can do temporary remote learning. Our school admin said they could do it but the NJ Dept of Education will not allow any district to offer any remote learning this year. So now we have kids coming to school that are likely contagious (sick family member at home), at risk kids forced to come in and mask all day long and a huge spike in the number of kids getting sick both in and out of school. Totally counterproductive.

The Chinese government thanks you for your expert medical advice. They agree that COVID is no big deal and they should not be held accountable for having released it on the rest of the world.
The question is (and suppose for this discussion that masks are 100% effective) - what is the goal?
Everyone is going to be infected with SARS CoV 2. Children are very unlikely to be harmed.

One kid died in the high school a township over. I believe he had another medical condition and COVID finished him off.
There is also a nasty case of the flu going around
. Apparently it has several of the same symptoms as covid but the tests come back negative.
If rumors of the vaxx weakening the immune system is true, a common cold might be uncommon in severity.
