On Friday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) responded to a question on what she would say to people who worked to pay off their student loans who feel it would be unfair if other people will have their loans forgiven by stating that “about 40%” of people with loans don’t have degrees and the issue “is a question of fairness.”

How fair is it to the people who loaned the money?

Just close your stupid, wasteful universities then if you don’t want to pay for them.

If 40% of the people with student loans do not have degrees, this might be an indication that they were probably not a good risk for success in college in the first place. If the colleges had to guarantee the loans and take the loss if the person doesn’t pay it off, there would be a very different relationship between people going to college and future success using their college degree.

There might not be as many grievance studies majors, for example.

Let the colleges fire all their diversity administration staff and use the savings to re-imburse those who did not get their degrees.

“about 40% of the folks with student loans don’t have a college diploma. They’re folks who tried and life happened.”

Not having a student loan forgiven is about the least painful “life happening” I can think of.

The lenders will get paid in full by the 50% of wage earners who pay taxes.

by stating that “about 40%” of people with loans don’t have degrees and the issue “is a question of fairness.”

I translate that approximately as, "F*** you!"

I think I’ll get me a beer. Ranks right up there with John Kerry’s trying to look normal by asking “can I git me a huntin license heah?”. Or that debate one time when Al Gore got made up to look like Ronald Reagan, or when he attacked Tipper and slid his tongue down her throat.

Equal protection under the law dictates everyone gets a “loan” they don’t have to pay back.

If someone got a small business loan to start an insect-based fast food restaurant and the restaurant failed, should the person's loan be forgiven because of "fairness," or should that person be accountable for making bad decisions?

I paid my student loan in full in only three years as I obtained a degree in a high paying job as was my intention. Pharmacy school is not easy. My loan should not have been forgiven nor was it. All student loans should not be forgiven.

There are poor Indian children on the rez who deserve to live in your house because it’s “a question of fairness.”

Bad return on investment if this many people can’t afford to pay back their loans - their degrees are a negative to them personally economically and to the country as a whole if the loans then have to be “forgiven” by taxpayers. Less than dead weight on the economy.
