President Biden will head to an electrical workers union convention in Chicago next Wednesday, a White House official announced on Thursday.
“NEXT WEDNESDAY: @POTUS will travel to Chicago, Illinois to attend the 40th @IBEW International Convention,” Matt Hill, White House senior associate communications director, tweeted, referring to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Most of its revenue comes from China. In China, Xi is culling businesses that might include GM. GM is junior pardner to all it’s businesses in China. China companies own all the GM products and the Americans are just no longer required.

Yep, my FIL lost most of his retirement when they pulled that $%@#, and coming from the Detroit area I grew up watching that festering cancer devouring the city first hand.
The local union business managers and business assistants don’t have fear economic downturns or layoffs. That’s a problem for the rank and file who still have to pay their dues for these loafers to sit on their fat asses and push money up to the IBEW leadership.
I read somewhere that the UAW is in a demographic death spiral. There is something like 5 retired auto workers for every working union member. I may not remember the exact number of retired to working right, but it is a very lopsided ratio of retired to working.
Yep, IMTS, International Machine tool Show, is held there every other year.
The costs are astronomical. Why they don’t move it is anyone’s guess, but kickbacks plays the heavy odds on that among the dealers I know.
