Increase the fares all they want; if there are no crew, planes aren’t going anywhere.

Increasing the fares will get a lot of the passengers engaged in discretionary travel off the flights. And the airlines will ditch extraneous flights entirely.

There was an article last week about one airline eliminating a flight between Philadelphia and Allentown, PA and replacing it with a shuttle bills ride instead.

For the life of me, I couldn’t imagine why anyone would fly between these two points. Philadelphia and Allentown are less than 65 miles apart.
