Now lightning bugs are something we don’t have that I wish we did. They’re like fairies. But...knock on wood, it’s been too dry for flies and mosquitoes so far, too. I haven’t had a bite yet! I’ve seen a few gnats, but not many. So I guess even a drought has it’s ups. LOL!

HONEYSUCKLES!!! Haven’t thought of them for ages. When I was a kid(a few years before the asteroid hit) they grew on a hill behind my house...We used to pluck off the trumpet shaped flowers from off their green vine base and suck out the nectar. I don’t remember what that tasted like because the memory cells that stored all that information have been given over to which draw holds my socks.

As for my wife’s friend Lola, heart of gold, brain of some sort of unidentifiable mush. She’ll gladly do anything for anybody, and those that survive will never permit her to do anything for them again. My wife is one of the few people who not only tolerates her, and likes her, but (G-D help me) understands her. My wife believes that she has FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME (I agree with her) which makes her hyper active, flighty, needing to write down everything, or forget it all. I have a great deal of sympathy for her, but my tolerance capability is limited to about 3 minutes. Even her cheeriness grates. But she keeps the commandment to love my neighbor as myself, ever fresh in my mind!

It does feel almost magical to stand in the yard at sunset as they come up out of the grass by the hundreds. That’s not happening just yet but will during summer. Only a few of them around right now. We don’t know why they’re out so early considering how cool it’s been.

You’re learning. LOL There’s a bright side if you look hard enough. Droughts suck but lack of mosquitoes is a big plus!

Hubby hasn’t complained about being bitten so our skeeters must not be out en masse yet. If they’re around, they zero in on him.

We used to do that with the blossoms, too. It was kind of sweet, the nectar.

I have friends like that one that I try to avoid. I have a hard time not showing my feelings. LOL! G’nite!

The problem with droughts is that there is too much bright side. LOL! I long for clouds and rain. Sunshine isn’t cheerful when it hurts.

We did go to bed a little early this morning. It's looking like a very active weather day here in Oklahoma and we don't know if this is going to cut into our bedtime like it did Monday.

But, we'll see what happens. We had a great visit to Chisolm Trail park yesterday. Pics:

Droughts have very little upside. Lack of bugs is about it.
La Niña needs to break down so y’all will have a chance for some rain.

Yeah, I saw there are more storms due over there. An active week, isn’t it? We’ve lucked out over here because the storms seem to always run out of steam by the time they reach us. We’ll see how the luck holds when this next system gets here Thursday.

Looks like Gizmo had a great time dragging you all over the place yesterday. :-)

You got that right. And lots of people here whine when it rains, so I guess they’ve gotten used to it. I just don’t.

Guess I’ll finish this show and go to bed. I am getting sleepy now. :)

And those people who whine when it rains would probably be the first to howl when there’s no water to drink. Gotta have rain, even in the desert.
