New Jersey Establishment Republicans In Panic Mode As Vulnerable Chris Smith Seeks Re-Election

The New Jersey GOP and the Republican National Committee are starting to sweat as momentum grows for Congressman Chris Smith’s GOP primary challenger, Mike Crispi.

Today, NJ GOP establishment elite and RNC National Committeeman Bill Palatucci said the RNC is dispatching teams and sending funds to help Smith beat Crispi in June.

Palatucci seemed confused when it came to Smith’s campaign.

“Rep. Smith won in a landslide at the Monmouth GOP convention, the Middlesex GOP convention, and the Mercer GOP convention,” Palatucci said.

“That’s right. You lost Ocean GOP convention in a landslide as well,” Palatucci bragged about a pre-determined convention won by Smith, carried out behind closed doors.

In fact, Crispi did not even seek the nomination of the Ocean County GOP, knowing beforehand that the process was being done in the shadows by a small group of establishment GOP chairpersons and elected officials.

“Fake news: We didn’t participate because it was rigged for your Never-Trumper candidate and everyone knows it,” Crispi replied. “When Smith brags about winning it as his key accolade, the public literally laughs at him. See exhibit A and B. And we’ll see you in Column A on Election Day!”

Crispi’s “America First Republicans” slate won column A ballot positioning in both counties. He won’t be on the ballot in Middlesex or Mercer County because those counties aren’t in Smith’s district.

Crispi said Palatucci and the NJ GOP, along with the RNC now seem uneasy over Smith’s first real challenge for his job in 40 years.

“They are very worried and very hell-bent on working against the greatest American President of our lifetime. Glad the RNC is showing their true colors,” Crispi said.

The GOP Establishment is our real enemy. They enjoy a cozy partnership with the Democrats, where they get a share in the graft, in exchange for not opposing the Democrats in anything important to them.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero

As well they should be. 40 years (21 terms) in office is too damn long, especially for a former democRat who pretends to be a Republican.

Smith’s pro-life base alone has gotten him elected for two decades. They are single issue voters and He’s their guy.

No, both pro-life. When Smith started out, he had a hard core group of 700 Club members attached to his hip and they carried him to wins, year after year. I doubt that group has any influence now, but incumbency is his friend. I really hope he loses. He’s more interested in the UN than the US.

It would be a monumental upset if Crispi could take out Chris “conservative on one issue, RINO on all others” Smith in the primary.

Not just because of the advantages of incumbency and 100% uniparty support for Smith, but because of the astronomical difference in the amount the candidates have to spend. As of 3/31 the figures were:

Smith: $800,000+ cash on hand
Crispi: $35,000

Money alone doesn’t always determine who wins House races, however it has an overwhelming tendency to do so when the disparity is as huge as this one is. Yeah yeah, we all know about the New Jersey trucker who upset a powerful state Senator in 2021 and only spent 31 cents to do it, but that wasn’t a congressional election and the stakes (and costs) are far greater in this one.

Well, when the single issue voters bring that up, just ask them....

How’s that working out for you?

Don't use Dem talking points to rip the progress made in defending life.

The real issue is they are both pro-lufe which has to be the default position if a candidate is even worth supporting. Now beyond that Smith has real problems defending everything else.

How does my statement “rip progress” on the pro life issue?

Let’s go back to when clintoon was president, and the republiCAN’Ts held the legislature. Let’s include bushie #2 and the fubo years too....

What progress was made on this issue?
So, my statement “How’s that working out for you” is both legitimate and factual. The only progress being made is on the state level.
