Russia has abducted hundreds of thousands of civilians into its territory and could seek to use them as leverage in peace talks, Kyiv has claimed.
Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine's ombudsman, said 402,000 civilians - of which 84,000 are children - have been taken 'hostage' by Vladimir Putin's army.
Russia gives almost the exact same figure, but says the civilians have been 'relocated' to its territory after volunteering to go there.
Ukraine also says those sent to Russian travel via 'filtration camps' designed to wheedle out those with links to the armed forces or emergency services.

“Hostages” aren’t much use unless you tell you enemies that you have them and are threatening them.
They mean escaped as refugees because their army was holding them as human shields? People are talking now.

That’s a whole lot of people abducted by an army that can’t fight its way out of a wet paper bag. Or so we’re told.
To transport 402,000 people would probably take about 10,000 buses or 2,500 air flights or 400 train loads. Is there any indication that has happened?
These may be ethnic Russians who wanted to leave.
Russia would not be stupid enough to use children as hostages. Ukraine on the other hand...
I hope someone is keeping score because these stories are award winning. If Russia is being beaten as bad as claimed, losing leadership, equipment, having dud munitions, running out of money, gas and other supplies, how do they have time to kidnap 400,000 people and whisk them away to Russia?
When this is all over, every media outlet spreading propaganda should be stripped of their credentials and put on a liars list where everyone can view it.

So the parents and relatives of these 84,000 kids stood by and allowed them to be taken to Moscow? No independent videos? What a pant load.
