With Governor Kemp campaigning in a tight primary, a Constitutional Carry bill has a strong chance of passing this year.

With Governor Kemp campaigning in a tight primary, a Constitutional Carry bill has a strong chance of passing this year. That is the same kind of heat that Gov. Abbott faced in 2021 when Texas passed the gun legislation.
The political worms only move when pressure is applied, IMHO.

Alabama just passed Constitutional Carry which goes into effect January 1, 2023. One of the big (if not sole) reasons people in AL wanted a CCW was reciprocity with GA. If this passes that reason goes away (although AL still CCW enjoys reciprocity with 30+ other states).

Hopefully, with Democrat Jon Bel Edwards (governor of Louisiana) term-limited out, Louisiana will elect a governor who will sign off on passage. Both houses of the LA legislature passed CC, but they couldn’t manage a veto over-ride.

He can sign a bill as would be his obligation, IMO, but I’m STILL not gonna vote for him in his primary very soon.
