Well technically he’s right - they call it a Targeted Operation - and still do. How each side sees these targets is another story. However Russia isn’t interested in taking Ukraine into Federated Russia by any means....it wants to neutralize it.

Russian government wants to control Ukraine & put in a puppet gov’t. He wants to treat Ukraine like he treated Chechnya with two Russian brigades permanently stationed there. Also, nearly half a million people or 40% of Chechnya’s prewar population had been internally displaced and lived in refugee camps or overcrowded villages. This will probably happen to Ukraine with the smashing of infrastructure causing a similar economic downturn for the nation.
