A Minnesota judge on Friday sentenced former police officer Kim Potter to two years for fatally shooting a Black motorist 10 months ago.
Hennepin County Judge Regina Chu handed down the “significant downward” punishment for the former Brooklyn Center police officer after emotional courtroom statements from the victim's loved ones and the defendant herself.
Chu ordered Potter to spend two-thirds of her sentence behind bars and one-third of it on supervised release. She's already served 58 days behind bars, which will go to her credit.
Judge received hundreds of letters supporting Kim Potter. Says she read each one of them.
I suspect the natives ain’t gonna be happy about that.
City better stock up on fire extinguishers.
When do the riots begin?

If it wasn’t so darn cold, the natives would riot. Maybe they’ll just go break some glass, steal some stuff and go home? A big fire, that might be good this time of year?
I’d say right about sundown sounds about right
I think you only serve 2/3’s of the sentence in Minnesota.
The judge was very thorough in her details for the sentencing rationale. Judge became tearful at conclusion of sentencing.
Spending the other third in Minnesota ought to be punishment enough. The upper Midwest has sure gone to hell.
Benjamin Crump is on the scene. Whip the community into a frenzy.
Another sacrifice of a White person on the altar of “social justice”.
Wright was a POS.
Police were trying to arrest him for an assault and attempted armed robbery, with a gun, of a White woman.
He had previously shot a black friend in the head, severly disabling him and shot and killed another black man.
Ah, but he was aspiring to become a piece of crap.
The judge made it clear that Potter was legally serving an arrest warrant at the time of the incident. She quoted Obama in an effort to get the community to temper their anticipated reaction to the sentence.
My comment on my post of this article that I posted a few minutes behind your post. The Mods have locked my thread.
Improper trial, improper verdict. The sentence represents the clear errors in this trial, but the Judge doesn’t want to publicly admit that she should have dismissed the case.
Riots, Arson and Looting tonight in the greater Minneapolis area, maybe a murder or two.
Enjoy your Marxism, Minnesota voters!
This was one outstanding judge. Potter was fortunate to have her preside.
Certainly smells like it.
They could turn things around if they started shooting the looters/arsonists that may show up using the verdict as an excuse. But that would take a spine on the part of the politicians, and democrats love to overlook crime unless it’s done by their political enemies.
Sounds about right.
This is what angers me. If that low life piece of crap would have obeyed LAWFUL ORDERS none of what happened would have occurred. So now she pays the price for a privileged waste of space.
Naw, the restless natives hate this cold when the sun goes down, and if you really want to get them desist their fun and games a few water cannons will ruin their whole night real fast right now.
