“The traditional family led by a mother and father”
No, the traditional family was led by the father.
what makes you say that?
Everyone has a father. Obama has Frank Marshall Davis.
Critical Family Theory? I’m sure some judge would block it as racist.
The open gash in American fabric caused by immorality and free money.
Another article on FR today says that 40% of Gen Z young people identify as LGBTQ. Is there a correlation there between sexual flexibility and fatherlessness?
Since 1970, out-of-wedlock birth rates have soared. In 1965, 24 percent of black infants and 3.1 percent of white infants were born to single mothers. By 1990 the rates had risen to 64 percent for black infants, 18 percent for whites. Every year about one million more children are born into fatherless families. If we have learned any policy lesson well over the past 25 years, it is that for children living in single-parent homes, the odds of living in poverty are great.
Because the other aspect not really discussed for fear of polarizing the already small audience who will read this….
The father worked, provided, was respected, and led his family. The wife comforted, and helped run a successful home.
Today, the traditional father role is mocked and is the butt of many jokes, the father is typically the dunce on TV. We are told it doesn’t matter who leads, or who provides. We are told a woman can do everything, we cheer single-mothers as a hard job.
We know the traditional family works, but the left has systematically de-constructed it.
Ephesians 5:24 for starters. That, and the past 50 years of “liberation from the patriarchy” have been an unmitigated disaster for families and women. Family structure is the foundation of all cultures. There are no successful matriarchies.
If over 40% of all babies are born to un-wed mothers, who is around to do the teaching?
The public housed bastards, from generations of un-wed, gummint sponsored baby making machines has shown us that the only law is the law of the jungle.
Gangs, drugs, intimidation and murder is the law of the street.
Does anyone think for a second, that metropolitan politicians don't know the real cause of city crime and gang violence?
They want it that way, it's like Rome, bread and circuses.
Have you ever driven through a public housing {ghetto} section of any large city?
I have on rare occasions driven through ghetto areas in Pittsburgh {which are relatively tame} but even with two pistols at the ready, I don't feel safe and can't wait to get out.
Driving through Philly, if you get off of the freeway and go down into the squalor, you will need to change your drawers when/if you get out alive.
My mother on the other hand saw me as GOD's punishment because I was a twin. I was 15 minutes younger than my sister.
I don't recall actually that my mother ever hit me, except one time when I was 16, but she sure punished me whenever she had a chance.
Does it surprise you that when my youngest brother called me and told me that she passed away (that was many years ago) I never shed a tear. My father's passing was a different story.
“the father is typically the dunce on TV”
Not long ago, it was the white father who was always the dunce on tv. Now, even black fathers are starting to be mocked. None of that is helpful.
How has the Church addressed this problem?
[crickets]
A 40% Fatherless Nation?

The government is mother. The government is father.
Maury Povich Court?
No, the traditional family was led by the father.
Thank you both for looking beyond the blather of Clownhall and returning us back to sanity.
The traditional family has always been the bedrock of our culture.
I do know of two guys who are house husbands. In each case the husbands were both successful in business, but their wives were more successful, and it was in their interest to have the husband stay home to raise the children and do the housework. Both are solid guys who are strong fathers who do a great job.
what makes you say that?

God said it.
Amazing you even ask this question.
