Remington must have a woke CEO. I wouldn’t have given these ghoulish money grubbers the steam off a San Francisco sidewalk stool.

I don’t think the shooter himself was found to be mentally ill. But even if he was, proving intent must be difficult. How would they know he was? Did Remington actually do anything illegal?

So. In the end all it boiled down to was a buttload of money for 9 families who weren’t satisfied with $3.7M each to hold out for over double that.
Wanna guess how many of those now stinking-rich families will donate sizeable $$ to combat mental health for troubled school children?

This is stupid

Did the gun(s) not operate as designed? Yes? Then there is nothing to sue over. Case dismissed.
Should Wusthoff be sued since an Afghan refugee killed 3 Germans with one of their chef's knives a few years back?

As a successful class action litigant, I can assure that the settlement is NOT greater than Remington’s insurance policies ... that’s the objective: let the defendant’s counsel, who is also selected by the insurer(s), wet their beaks with a couple of years of billings and then settle up to the total coverage in force to avoid a jury trial that can easily go off the rails and generate unwanted publicity ...

Remington went bankrupt in 2020 and was liquidated. The company was split up several ways and the original company no longer exists.
They had a bad board and CEO, but they aren’t around any more and Remington exists in name only now - and that name is split up among multiple different companies.

Why? Unreal. Its not their fault. I would have said sorry, but these dont just go off by themselves.

“the AR-15 automatic gun”
Yes, it was the belt-fed automatic semi-automatic AR-15 that had large capacity clips, cop killer bullets, a deadly flashlight attachment, and it also came with a handy Pez dispenser.
