White House tells chip industry to brace for Russian supply disruptions

The White House is warning the chip industry to diversify its supply chain in case Russia retaliates against threatened U.S. export curbs by blocking access to key materials, people familiar with the matter said.

The potential for retaliation has garnered more attention in recent days after Techcet, a market research group, published a report on Feb. 1 highlighting the reliance of many semiconductor manufacturers on Russian and Ukrainian-sourced materials like neon, palladium and others.

According to Techcet estimates, over 90% of U.S. semiconductor-grade neon supplies come from Ukraine, while 35% of U.S. palladium is sourced from Russia.

It seems Russia doesn't have to nuke America until She glows in the dark, they can make sure nothing in America glows again, if Brandon fails in his effort to do so.

Finally, an actual reason to be involved in the Ukraine, assuming it can't be sourced from other countries.

Yes that's an interesting comment and one worth understanding better.

Where is Carter’s Misery Index? Could someone start one for Biden to compare?

And to think the previous President sounds the alarm on chips being made in foreign countries and our reliance on them.

Now he’s gone

Fortunately, there is no shortage of US-sourced buffoonium.

The future Biden is alerting them to has already been going on. Market Watch said months ago:
DETROIT — The global shortage of computer chips is getting worse, forcing automakers to temporarily close factories including those that build popular pickup trucks.

General Motors announced Thursday that it would pause production at eight North American plants during the next two weeks, including two that make the company’s top-selling Chevrolet Silverado pickup.

Ford will stop making pickups at its Kansas City Assembly Plant for the next two weeks. Shifts will be cut at two more truck plants in Dearborn, Michigan, and Louisville, Kentucky.

The cuts will compound an already short supply of cars, trucks and SUVs on dealer lots nationwide that have pushed prices to record levels. Automakers reported that U.S. dealers had just under a million new vehicles on their lots in August, 72% lower than the 3.58 million in August of 2019.

Brandon says we will cut off chips to Russia if they're mean to Ukraine.

In six weeks China will supply Russia with all they want, while Brandon's American Automobile Industry dies on the vine.

Ford to suspend or cut output at 8 of its factories due to chip shortage

Expect some “last minute” negotiations from the Biden administration to barely avert a war (that Putin had not planned.) This whole thing seems like a set-up to claim victory. It’s as if Jussie Smollet is now advising the White House.

Palladium could become unobtanium...

I recommend we use Vibranium as a replacement.

It dampens only Liberal vibrations so Lefty speech cannot pass through any chip that contains it.

The problems with obtaining chips has been going on for two years. My understanding is that they come from Taiwan. I have a son in law who works for the automobile industry and has been talking about these shortages and what it is doing to the industry for.... two years. It’s been assumed the “pandemic” and supply issues have been the problem.

But now its Russia? Seems like Putin is the “Emmanuel Goldstein” from Orwell’s 1984. What is this constant drumbeat against Russia from the Left. They loved Russia when it was the Communist Soviet Union.

I think this is all more democrat lies, used as a distraction to the disaster they are causing in this country.
