What a silly thing to suggest.

Here is a thought: How about we adhere to the agreements we made and not keep moving our missiles closer to the Russian frontier.

Defensive missiles are fine in Poland and Romania. But do we need to be offensive weapons there?

This entire thing is a Wag the Dog scenario developed to make Biden appear to be a great foreign policy president. But in reality, he is going to end up forcing Putin’s hand and I don’t think Putin really wants to do that.

I still see the photos of all of those tanks sitting in parking lots with snow on them. When the engines are running and the snow is brushed off them...or at least when there are footprints around them...we can get concerned.

The biggest problem is that the defensive and offensive missiles are using the same launchers and even look alike, being a modular system where the munition is coming in a standardized canister.

“Here is a thought: How about we adhere to the agreements we made and not keep moving our missiles closer to the Russian frontier.”

Here’s a thought: How about Russia respect their neighbors borders and withdraw from Ukraine inclusive of Crimea and Donbass, withdraw from the lands they stole from Georgia, and while we’re at it they can give the Kurile Islands back to Japan.

NATO does not want to put missiles on Russia’s borders and so long as Russia stays within Russia’s borders then there’s no need to aim missile at Russia.

In any case there will not be a return to Russia dominating the nations of Eastern Europe. That crap is over.

It’s the old adage that if you don’t start nothin’ then nothin’s gonna happen.

“not keep moving our missiles closer to the Russian frontier.”

Which US missiles are close to the Russian border?

Nah, get concerned with AWS us-east-1 goes down again - this time permanently. Last time it happened was during the last discussion between Putin and that walking-talking reason they wrote the 25 Amendment.

No such agreement exists, despite often being repeated. It's a myth. And the NATO countries in question--Romania, etc-- have never been credible military threats to Russia, which possesses more nuclear missiles than the US, UK, and France combined, can strike virtually every target in the USA within minutes from subs, and which has cheated and broken every arms treaty they have ever signed.

Hating Biden is one thing. Repeating Russian bullshit--a country that is close military allies with China, North Korea, Iran, etc.-- uncritically is quite another.

There is no need for any troops to be in foreign lands. If we cannot enforce our will and protect our nations interest with the weapons we have now, what good are boots on the ground? Tell Ukraine or any other nation that they are on their own. If another European nation wants to help them defend themselves, have at it. We cannot stop the invasion and theft of our own country that is happening second by second on every level.
