Biden offers Russia access to NATO bases to ease Ukraine crisis: report
New York Post ^ | Feb. 2nd, 2022 | Mark Moore

Posted on 02/02/2022 8:34:01 AM PST by shadowlands1960

The White House has reportedly floated an offer to Russian President Vladimir Putin to allow Kremlin access to key NATO bases in exchange for Moscow de-escalating tensions over its military buildup on Ukraine’s border.

The proposal would also involve discussions about Russia verifying that the US has not deployed Tomahawk cruise missiles to bases in Romania and Poland, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.

The reported offer would be contingent on agreement from US allies, including Romania and Poland, while Russia would also have to provide similar information about bases with ground-launched weapon systems.

The overture reportedly is intended to ease Putin’s fears that the US could target Russia with the missiles.

There are definitely Banderite Nazis among them. I heard of incidents where they hung UPA’s banner on campus where the Polish housed their refugees.

There were similar agreements between the US an Russia during the Cold War.

Yes. I believe both the SALT and START agreements had onsite inspection protocols.

NV is one of FR’s Kremlin mouthpieces.

Actually have had conservative “alphabets” occasionally tapping in for NV MM just for laughs...

This is Russia’s Eight Point list of demands that they issued late last year presented as a treaty proposal:

Article 1: the parties should not strengthen their security at the expense of Russia’s security;

Article 2: the parties will use multilateral consultations and the NATO-Russia Council to address points of conflict;

Article 3: the parties reaffirm that they do not consider each other as adversaries and maintain a dialogue;

Article 4: the parties shall not deploy military forces and weaponry on the territory of any of the other states in Europe in addition to any forces that were deployed as of May 27, 1997;

Article 5: the parties shall not deploy land-based intermediate- and short-range missiles adjacent to the other parties;

Article 6: all member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization commit themselves to refrain from any further enlargement of NATO, including the accession of Ukraine as well as other States;

Article 7: the parties that are member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization shall not conduct any military activity on the territory of Ukraine as well as other States in the Eastern Europe, in the South Caucasus and in Central Asia; and

Article 8: the agreement shall not be interpreted as affecting the primary responsibility of the Security Council of the United Nations for maintaining international peace and security.

So yes, that is what Russia demanded.

“Aside from alleviating your desire to get into a war with a nuclear power?”

Where did I say this? Because I did not.

Nah, get concerned with AWS us-east-1 goes down again - this time permanently. Last time it happened was during the last discussion between Putin and that walking-talking reason they wrote the 25 Amendment.

Reality was far different than paper.

Both were feel good jokes.

With both treatises, large numbers of warheads were known to be laterally moved from Russian Strategic Rocket Forces, to the Russian Ministry of Energy, literally keeping them from any negotiation.

Additionally, three more critical points pertinent points -

1. We did not gain access to numerous sites within the agreements, which included all CBRN

2. RUS/CIS has recycled and rebuilt to what are 3-gen and 4-gen warheads.

3. In 2010, Russia and China entered into what has been quietly known among world powers and COCOM Commanders and intel, as their strongest joint defense and finance agreement in history — Stronger than when Lenin picked and financed Mao in 1921, to lead the communist revolution in China (and hoped all of Southeast Asia).

Beginning with Clinton, continuing with Obama, and now with Buyden, the US has seeded huge military tech, strategic materials, energy prices and EU energy dependency, and foreign policy to Moscow and Beijing expansion.

What can we conclude - the Moscow/Beijing bribed, blackmailed , fraudulently seated, “captured” leftist continuum of Clinton and Obama, continues with their puppet Buyden -

Dangerous times, but all theater.

Here is a thought: How about we adhere to the agreements we made and not keep moving our missiles closer to the Russian frontier.

No such agreement exists, despite often being repeated. It's a myth. And the NATO countries in question--Romania, etc-- have never been credible military threats to Russia, which possesses more nuclear missiles than the US, UK, and France combined, can strike virtually every target in the USA within minutes from subs, and which has cheated and broken every arms treaty they have ever signed.

Hating Biden is one thing. Repeating Russian bullshit--a country that is close military allies with China, North Korea, Iran, etc.-- uncritically is quite another.

which include worrying about our real strategic threat, China.

Russia and China are allies. Russia is also an ally of North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, etc.

All of these countries are a problem and want us dead.

“Poland is not Western Europe”

Culturally speaking Poland is a Western European nation and has been for all of its history. The Polish Winged Hussars saved Western Europe from both the invading Ottoman Turks and the Russians.

One of my favorite quotes from the web is this:

“The hussar lance was the key reason for their successes on the battlefield. There were reports of the hussars impaling up to six Russians or Turks with a single charge.”

https://historyofyesterday.com/winged-hussars-e23a3873c4d8

Polish warriors killing Russian invaders. Six at a time.

Ah yes, the good old days!

In any case, Poland and her people are Western European in their views and associations and the Russians are not wanted in their country.

I would dare say the Polish National Anthem is the only one that metions Napoleon in it. Culturally, Poland has always had a kinship with France.

We are fighting Russia’s territorial ambitions by surrendering to them. If this small surrender isn’t enough, we’ll surrender some more.

THE POLISH NATIONAL ANTHEM

Poland has not yet perished,
So long as we still live.
What the foreign force has taken from us,
We shall with sabre retrieve.

March, march, Dąbrowski,
From Italy to Poland.
Under your command
We shall rejoin the nation.

We’ll cross the Vistula, we’ll cross the Warta,
We shall be Polish.
Bonaparte has given us the example
Of how we should prevail.

March, march, Dąbrowski,
From Italy to Poland.
Under your command
We shall rejoin the nation.

Like Czarniecki to Poznań
After the Swedish annexation,
To save our homeland,
We shall return across the sea.

March, march, Dąbrowski,
From Italy to Poland.
Under your command
We shall rejoin the nation.

A father, in tears,
Says to his Basia
Listen, our boys are said
To be beating the tarabans.

March, march, Dąbrowski,
From Italy to Poland.
Under your command
We shall rejoin the nation.

Yes. I believe both the SALT and START agreements had onsite inspection protocols.

Back in the day, 4 km from the East German border, the Russians would drop by in one of their Hind copters to take a peek at us. My MI buddy regularly went over the border to inspect some 8th Guards sites. I don’t remember which treaty it was, but it was before either of those.
