You make a claim against them for not doing their jobs correctly, causing harm, emotional distress, etc. They have to put up their own cash to pay for the investigation done by the bond (insurance) company. If they are found liable, the bond company will pay you, and then cancel their bond if it’s willful actions. They cannot work in that position, or any other appointed or elected position without it.
