Trump Promises to Pardon January 6 Political Prisoners, “They Are Being Treated So Unfairly”
Liberty Daily ^ | 01/29/2022 | JD Rucker

The mostly peaceful protests at the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, have resulted in the jailing of those many who entered the building. Despite committing no actual crimes beyond trespassing, they are being made an example of by the Deep State to dissuade patriots from acting in defiance of government corruption.

President Donald Trump has been conspicuously quiet for months regarding these political prisoners. He has mentioned them on occasion, but hadn’t specifically promised action until Saturday night’s rally in Conroe, Texas. There, he promised to act on behalf of those who are still being persecuted, even pardoning them if necessary should he run and win the 2024 election.

“So many people have been asking me about it,” he said. “If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly.”

It’s a statement of support that goes beyond what he has said in the past. Granted, those who are still imprisoned by January, 2025, when he would take office if he runs and wins the election will have been locked up for nearly four years at that point, but the sentiment is still appreciated.

Here’s his full speech:

***Yup. But Trump will treat them ‘fairly’. I think he lost a step on this whole political episode.

“If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons we will give them pardons…”

But if he doesn’t run, or doesn’t win, they can all rot? It’s good he finally addressed this, but I find this statement inadequate. First we just want to identify exactly who these people are, because only then can we know what is the proper treatment, and a lot of that could be done now. My guess is there is a mixture of people, from anarchists who went there to cause trouble, down to a few people who simply went there to see Trump, who never showed at the Capital as he promised. Abandoning them for now, with only a a faint promise of I will do something years from now, if I become President again, is not good enough in my opinion. Unless they’re all just pure anarchists, but from his statement it doesn’t appear he believes that, either.

From what I can see from here (granted a long way, away) the January 6th people have been TERRIBLY mistreated. Badly.

While the rest of the entire country is finding every conceivable excuse, to whitewash everything else.

Everything. But the GOP and Trump are evil.

Really. It is obvious even from over here.

...should he run and win the 2024 election.

“If I run, and if I win, we will ...”

It is very telling that any and ALL news media references to this part of the speech has the number 2024 in it.

Yet, DJT does not mention 2024. Purposely, IMHO.

little late now, he should of done that before leaving office. Still can’t believe he didn’t issue a blanket pardon for everyone involved on his last day in office.

So blanket pardons for everyone when intial reports said officers were killed? The few that were detained the last week Trump was in office were in for being in a restricted area, trespassing. Nobody was worried about that. Biden is the one who was rounding up hundreds of people all across the country and placing them in strict confinement for misdemeanors with no due process and treating them worse like they are terrorists and actually worse than terrorists. This happened after Trump.

I agree. It’s very shoddy to use the lives of his supporters NOW to score political points, when he and his legal eagles have done nada to intercede thus far. Most of those people were there out of loyalty to Trump. I’ve seen NO reciprocity.

Trump also said he believed in the innocence of Julien Assange. He found the time, the resources and the reasons to pardon many hardened criminals while in office, but not Assange.

Taken Trumps comment in entirety I think he was saying that compared to the other violent protests and how those people walked basically he believes the Jan 6 people were unjustly treated...that it was unfair to treat them this way while the other ones never paid a price.

So I don’t think he means to pardon everyone, rather he would be fair. Because not everyone who was there were guiltless.

Assange is a tricky case and not even close to comparing with Jan 6th. Better to compare him with Snowdan.

I think the authorities are afraid of what Assange can do with information some may not want the world to know. Especially those of politicians. Not just in our country but leaders throughout the world.

Although Assange didn’t hack into agencies etc.....he accepted information from those who did. This way he could say he was simply a “Publisher” as he revealed information someone else had collected.

That’s a pretty subtle point to be driving for someone who sent 700 followers to the bowels of prison just for demonstrating and expressing their political opinions and remaining relatively silent about it for more than a year.

“Liberal tears and screams,,,”

that’s the one of the main points to Trump announcing this: he’s up to his old tricks of getting publicity from the fascist regime media by announcing actions that they think will be negative for him politically and therefore giving him massive publicity ... Trump did this over and over again during his first Presidential campaign and especially as President because Trump knew that the fascist media would NEVER publicize anything they thought would be a positive for him ... Trump is sincere in statements and fully intends on implementation, but choose to deliberately telegraph his intentions well in advance rather than just spring the actions without prior notice ...

Jimmuh Carter pardoned the draft dodgers. He also pardoned John F’g Kerry for being a traitors collaborating with North Vietnam commies while he was still in Navy reserves.

The fact that we’re even asking such a question is a sign that Trump mishandled this situation.

Blanket pardons for trespassing. All that serious stuff could proceed apace. The vast majority of those political prisoners are being held over a year for misdemeanor trespassing, whereas a typical judgement against a violent BLM rioter is a $40 fine.
