The US and NATO on Wednesday delivered a written response to Russia against the draft of security guarantees Kremlin demanded last December.

The United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) on Wednesday delivered a written response to Russia against the draft of security guarantees Kremlin demanded last December.

In its proposal, NATO rejected the list of demands Russia handed over after Moscow increased military concentration in the eastern European borders. "Our response outlined three main areas where the international military bloc observed room for progress," NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement, while US State Secretary Antony Blinken stated that the letter offered Russia a serious diplomatic path" to end the impasse.

"NATO is a defensive alliance and we do not seek confrontation. But we cannot and will not compromise on the principles on the security of our alliances and security of Europe and North America,” NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said at a news conference, citing the written response to Russia.

US Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan delivered Washington's reply to Russia. It is to mention that Russia had called for the withdrawal of NATO expansion in terms of troop deployment and weapons from eastern Europe, mostly from ex-Soviet republics.

The draft proposal was sent by Kremlin after US intelligence detected nearly 1,00,000 Russian troops amassed along the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine in October, sparking speculations of invasion of Kyiv. However, despite hostile assertions, Russia has maintained that it does not intend any harm to the sovereignty of the former Soviet country.

US, NATO reject Kremlin's demands

Both US and NATO also clarified that it will uphold it's post-1997 border and sought "re-establishment" of diplomatic ties between the US-led bloc and Russia. While the international military alliance also called on Moscow to enter into a dialogue-based resolution of tensions along the Donbas region in Ukraine, Blinken asserted that the US will uphold NATO's 'Open Door Policy.' The US official's remarks came against Russia's vehement opposition to Ukraine's efforts to join NATO and urged the US to suspend its admission process.

"The document we’ve delivered includes concerns of the United States and our allies and partners about Russia’s actions that undermine security, a principled and pragmatic evaluation of the concerns that Russia has raised, and our own proposals for areas where we may be able to find common ground,” US State Secretary Antony Blinken told reporters on Wednesday.

Blinken refused to divulge intricate details from the response. He specifically highlighted the American position and concerns over Russia's actions. Meanwhile, Stoltenberg, in his statement, emphasised that "Russia should refrain from coercive force posturing, aggressive rhetoric, and malign activities directed against allies and organisations," adding that Moscow must pull back forces from Georgia and Moldova as well.

NATO prepared to listen to Russia's concerns Stoltenberg also informed that the letter from NATO pressed on promoting transparency and expanding the use of existing military channels to enhance cooperation with Russia. He also added that NATO affirmed to listen to Russia's concerns and "engage in a real conversation on how to uphold and strengthen the fundamental principles" of European security. Calling for practical measures and "serious" discussions over arms control, Stoltenberg concluded saying that the Allies are "ready to meet" as soon as possible.

Written response was, “You are not a part of the Great Reset. We will force you into a confrontation somehow. Have a nice day.”

Sounds more like huffing and puffing from the usual warmongering crowd. What are we going to confront them with. Generals who are more interested in letting cross dressers express themselves than actually training a modern army?

Russia lost any credibility when they conducted their ham-handed and cowardly invasion of Ukraine in 2014.

Its worth repeating: 2014 was a CIA color-revolution and coup, which deposed a duly-elected President. That President happened to be favorable to Russia, so of course, the neocons in DC and their puppet Obama had to remove him.

I would admit Ukraine to NATO and recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation with full diplomatic rights on the same day, and bring Taiwan into ASEAN.

“2014 was a CIA color-revolution and coup”

It wasn’t. I know plenty of Ukrainians and they were deeply displeased when Yanukovych refused to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement (EUUAA) which would have given Ukraine and the Ukrainian people access to EU markets and jobs. It also would have brought in much needed global investment into Ukraine.

The touchstones of the EUUAA most importantly required Ukraine to put an end to the corruption and cronyism that is so typical of former Russian-occupied countries and that is still ever-present in both Russia and Belarus. These political, economic, judicial, and regulatory reforms would have lifted the economy of Ukraine and made day-to-day life better just as the same reforms improved Poland, the Baltics, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the former Czechoslovakia.

Oh, but you Russian gangsters can’t have that, can you? Seeing Yanukovych kicked out of Ukraine and then having his palatial dacha pictured on TV all over the world embarrassed you people, didn’t it? You’re still butthurt that Yanukovych’s billion-dollar estate was exposed along with the hideous corruption that funded it.

What’s worse is that you gangsters try to convince yourselves and others that the CIA toppled Yanukovych when the truth is that his regime was like a tree that was rotted inside and despite an outward appearance it was fragile and weak and easily toppled. No, the CIA no more deposed Yanukovych than they deposed the gangsters who ran the August Coup against Gorbachev.

This is always the fate of corrupt regimes to fall suddenly when the people they oppress no longer fear them.

The same will happen to Putin. The day will come when people who want Russia to prosper as a decent and honest nation will simply no longer listen to this leftover from the days of Brezhnev. His regime will fall with a whimper and if he’s lucky he’ll be allowed to live out his days in Amsterdam or even Paris where he can go to cocktail parties and tell people about how important he used to be.

Or maybe he’ll get shot in the back of the head like he used to his victims in the Lubyanka.

Honestly, I’d rather see him die a pathetic old man than a martyr.

In any case, this is the crap you defend. A pox upon you and yours for supporting Russian imperialism and corruption.

Screw NATO and our own communist government who could care less about the invasion being allowed on our own U.S. border.

This post is a collection of angry bile and slurs. Oh, and something about Yanukovych having a large house. Its like listening to an aggressive drunk at a bar spilling nonsense from his brain.

Ridiculous.

Yours is EXACTLY how the neocon-left responds when people oppose them leading into another useless foreign war. They call you “traitor,” “Putin Lover” or “terrorist.”

Yep, you’re a Russian trained troll. There’s about nine or ten of you on FR who share the same words, phrases, and insults and your signature style is that you evade critical points by responding to them with insults and vagaries.

May your children crap in your soup.
