He’s hard core and though I’m sure they’re all blackmailed my guess is it didn’t take that in this case.

Yes, and then they could put Hillary in as VP, and Biden can resign. Voila! First biological female El Presidente!

That's a good idea. Then Biden's handlers can appoint his replacement - Cankles maybe?

I bet he was told he was going to retire, no liberal retires willingly unless they get diagnosed with an imminent terminal illness.

I’m not sure what is pragmatic about this guy. He’s a power-drunk liberal who legislates from the bench.

Also, none of the other news sites have this story. Whether you like them or not, scotusblog.com has the most in-depth coverage of the Supreme Court of anybody on the internet, and they don’t have this story yet. When Breyer issues a formal statement, I’ll believe it then.

If it is true, then he must realize that on the big cases he is never going to get his way for the foreseeable future.

Incoming: a 45-year old female marxist with very little paper trail.
There will be some Kabuki posturing and grumbling by Mitch and company until she’s confirmed by a vote of 65-35.

The STUPID republicans will vote for whoever the communists nominate. Not to worry!

I don’t see Big Mike as being interested in a real, long-term job like that. Getting Kamala out of the way for a sweetheart veep appointment in time for a big, muscular leg up on 2024? That’s more Big Mike’s style.

Will Manchin vote for a radical?

It would be great for them to re-nominate Merrick Garland. Then the R’s can go to town on him for what he’s done - & hasn’t done - this past year.

“is expected to”...

Sounds like he didn’t know he was going to retire when it was announced by those who do know he is going to retire.

The timing suggests their internal polling says they will lose the Senate. Gotta cram his replacement through before the next election.

Whomever Brandon nominates, they will have the Republican female vote for certain.

Linda Graham and Susan Collins.

+ 1000 pounds + a BLM Club Memebership Card. Probably Stacy “The Gapper” Abrams.
