There is no advantage to him if the pandemic is declared over. He loses all those appearances on TV, the admiration, and his 414,000 a year job at the White House. There is no advantage to the politicians to declare it over. They lose the ability to order millions of people to become poor from losing their jobs, or dead from an untested vax.

Other than being forced to wear masks, and dealing with mind numbing inconveniences due to lack of labor, or not being able to see shows because of panic monkey closed venues, it has not altered my lifestyle one iota. I worked, traveled, ate out, shook contractors hands, talked with people, had beers in public places, with exactly the same frequency as I did since day one. The only fun part was if I walked along the river instead of using a real hiking trail, there would always be a Karen or two that would spot me a hundred yards away walking maskless (outdoors) and would cross the street, and then cross back after passing.
