Europe considers new COVID-19 strategy: Accepting the virus

MADRID (AP) — When the coronavirus pandemic was first declared, Spaniards were ordered to stay home for more than three months. For weeks, they were not allowed outside even for exercise. Children were banned from playgrounds, and the economy virtually stopped.

But officials credited the draconian measures with preventing a full collapse of the health system. Lives were saved, they argued.

Now, almost two years later, Spain is preparing to adopt a different COVID-19 playbook. With one of Europe’s highest vaccination rates and its most pandemic-battered economies, the government is laying the groundwork to treat the next infection surge not as an emergency but an illness that is here to stay. Similar steps are under consideration in neighboring Portugal and in Britain.

The idea is to move from crisis mode to control mode, approaching the virus in much the same way countries deal with flu or measles. That means accepting that infections will occur and providing extra care for at-risk people and patients with complications.

We need to live with it - President Trump, July 3, 2020

US must learn to live with Covid virus, just like the flu - President Trump, October 6, 2020

Trump was right, he wasn’t downplaying, he was right once again.

IF the AP is saying this, then the Democrats are wanting to go back to normal?

I'll believe it when I see it as it is their current strangle hold on America.

Two years of a wrecked economy and wrecked lives and now they’re finally adopting the strategy they should have used from the beginning.

After their great experiment on humanity crashes, they come full circle. What are the guinea pigs now thinking? How does it feel to have been taken advantage of in such a personal, intimate, life-changing way? There’s a lot of back peddling now going on. Will the masses accept the BS explanations? As an example, take. a listen to Boris Johnson trying to slip and slide his way out of his crimes against humanity. They all need to be hauled to and tried at Nuremberg for what they have done to man and to the world economy.

let’s face it...people everywhere want to get back to living their lives:

21 Jan: Jamaica Gleaner: COVID-positive tourists a small percentage, Dyer contends
Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) Chairman Godfrey Dyer is hitting back against reports of increased numbers of hotel guests testing positive for COVID-19, arguing that those visitors who are confirmed to have the virus are only a small percentage of Jamaica’s total tourist cohort at the affected facilities.

Speaking briefly to The Gleaner on Wednesday, Dyer said that there is no need to put special emphasis on the fact that overseas visitors are testing positive for COVID-19.
“The criticism against hoteliers is very unfair, as it is less than two per cent of the tourists who stay in the hotels who have COVID-19. You cannot use that as any major thing, and it is unreasonable, and it should never have been done,” said Dyer...

The RIU Ocho Rios had confirmed 55 guests as having the virus, as were 12 guests and two members of staff at Sandals Ocho Rios. Fourteen COVID-19 cases were detected among guests at the Bahia Principe Resort, while there were guests stricken at Moon Palace, five at Sand Castle, and four at Majestic Villa.
But Dyer contended that those numbers represent only a small fraction of the thousands of tourists who visit Jamaica annually...

---- "...Dyer contended that those numbers represent only a small fraction of the thousands of tourists who visit Jamaica annually..."

Small fraction is right! There has been almost no significant pandemic in Jamaica except in the media hysteria and globalist manipulation.

As of 21 January 2022,

( 2,561 "official" Covid deaths in Jamaica / 2,981,116 Jamaicans ) x 100 = 0.086 %

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/region/jamaica

Less than one hundredth of one percent dead from the "PANIC" pandemic over two years.

There has been little proof of “pandemic-battered economies,” and much proof that the hysteria ginned up to lockdown whole economies with fascist-style dictates are the cause.

Almost all countries in Europe have had little impact from disease compared to massive impact from academics’ and experts’ idiotic advice to lockdown economies — just as the Chinese model was followed.

Recall the initial alarmist "model" from failed modeler Neil Ferguson, carried to Trump by Fauci and Birx. Panic was sown, and then magnified by the media and the political Left.

As of 18 January 2022,

Johns Hopkins University's "official" data -- ( 5,547,903 "global deaths" / 7,921,131,915 global population ) x 100 = 0.070% of the global population.

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/

Worldometer's "official" data -- ( 5,583,850 "global deaths" / 7,921,131,915 global population ) x 100 = 0.070% of the global population.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Here on FR, worldometer reports are almost daily posted, so the info MUST be correct.

If correct, the pandemic worldwide has caused only 0.070% of deaths worldwide.

If not correct, why do politicians and "experts" cite them?
