“Is it true that a Trump/DeSantis ticket can’t happen because they are both FL and the Constitution prohibits that?”

No it isn’t true.
If both of them are from Florida then the electoral votes can’t go to them. That’s the Constitutional part.

Trump would change his address to New Jersey (See Cheney in 2000) and “Presto” Constitutional compliance has been met.

It really isn’t much of a hurdle.

Trump/DeSantis 2024

“Well, I have a very good relationship with Governor DeSantis you know, when he wanted to run, he asked for my support and I supported him and he went, you know, up immediately very, very high. You know, he won the election the day I announced that I was going to give him my endorsement,” he told reporters

Yeah we have a great relationship but of course he'd still be a piss-ant if it wasn't for me.

I'm sure DeSantis was extremely flattered by the remarks. /S

The so-called feud is a win, win, win.

It gives DeSantis the appearance of a backbone.

It keeps Trump in the news as the candidate to be reckoned with.

And the mere mention of Trump in any media format brings eyeballs to the the Fake News Media.

Did Axios cite a source? The only source cited was someone named N.R. Sirckle

CNN and MSNBC like to make up crap

They make crap up like this because they know DeSantis would be the better candidate for them. They would rather see DeSantis get the nod than Trump.

Technically, both people on the ticket can be from the same state. There’s no rule against it. But there is a rule that an elector can’t vote for two candidates both from the elector’s state, so if Trump and Desantis are both Floridians, then Florida’s electoral votes can’t got to both. In a race where FL’s electoral votes are greater than or equal to the margin of victory, this could cause the Dem VP candidate to be elected along with Trump.

I understand how easy it was for Dick Cheney to become a Wyoming guy again. No one cared. But does Trump say he’s a New Yorker again just to accommodate someone else on the ticket? That seems like a distinctly non-Trump-like to do. Does Desantis say he’s not a Floridian? Desantis is a native of the state and is governor, so it would be kind of weird for him to abandon the state.

It's ridiculous for DeSantis is from Florida.

But it's not ridiculous to say Trump is from New York, he is. Wasn't his home state New York in 2016? I assume he would run as a New Yorker, if he ran again, anyway. He's lived his whole life in the City, and never been ashamed of it. I think he only made his residence Florida for legal reasons.
