I’m not saying I would trust Chuck Todd - or Georgie ‘Clinton War Room thug’ Stephonopolis... I’m saying FOX needs to choose someone who’s an operative.
A Stephen Miller ‘type’ - or even Miller if can learn to do an interview...
It’s like hiring a lawyer - our justice system allows for each side to hire a champion... the last thing you want if you need a lawyer is someone who ‘sees both sides’ in a court setting and is playing to make himself look good at the expense of justice.
That happened this morning.
John Roberts did the usual journalist short term ‘gotcha’ stuff... he asked silly questions, “Can you be Governor to all the people like you say?’. It’s a Chris Wallace type set up for a later interview when you say, “You said on January 16th you were going to be the Governor for all the people of Virginia , but here we have democrats standing against you, can you explain?”
What a waste of time. It’s not something anyone cares about... it’s a ‘gotcha’...
Everyone who’s ever worked in the sausage factory already knows no one can give everyone what they want... so the question and goal of the question is to make the journalist look ‘smart’ when in fact the question and any future answers are a waste of everyone’s time.
In short - we have 3 champions for democrats on Sunday Morning News shows and NOT ONE champion for Republicans... And yes, we can teach our champion to look fair...which is what NBC, ABC, and CBS do...
That becomes the balance.
FOXNews needs someone insightful and knowledgeable - someone who can hear answers and go with the next logical question if the answer’s interesting. Someone with a conservative background.
