Glad the wind finally calmed down. It does wear on the nerves when it’s howling for hours and hours.

Snow is just starting to show up along the TN/KY state line now. The rest of are just getting rain and will for several more hours. It’s 43 degrees here so we have a ways to go before it’s cold enough. It looks like it’ll start changing over to snow here around the time I go to bed in the morning. Three to fives inches are what we’re told to expect.
The good thing is they aren’t predicting a long stretch of freezing rain/sleet beforehand. That’s a big plus.

Yes, it was nerve wracking for me and for the kitties. They were mostly hidden all day and only came out to eat tonight. And I was out just long enough to feed them and pet them a bit.

Oh, thank goodness you won’t have sleet or freezing rain before the snow. It’ll sure make it easier to clean off the highways that way. Can’t believe you’re 10 degrees warmer than we are at the moment. LOL!

Poor kitties. They don’t like real windy weather. When we let some of out cats live outside, they hated it too.

We’ll get a little sleet of freezing rain at the change-over but it should be brief. Initially they said that would be our primary hit of this storm. It’s still going to be a heavy, wet snow and that can be problematic enough.

They don’t clear the roads here. No snow plows because we just don’t get that much snow. They have them in the cities but Podunk Nowhere areas like ours don’t have the money.

It’ll melt Tuesday when it warms back up into the 40s so no biggie. Nowhere we have to go so we’ll wait it out.

Wet, heavy snow is NO FUN at all!! Hope you are all provisioned for a siege of weather.

I slept fairly well, but was sound asleep when the alarm went off. Went into the office to do checks.

We got this Friday...

On Jan 13, 2022, the US Supreme Court issued a temporary stay of the ETS, pending a full review of the legal challenges to the rule by the Sixth Circuit. This means enforcement of the ETS has been stayed and there are no regulatory obligations to meet at this time. In short, the mandate (HSSE 300-10 – OSHA ETA Policy) for vaccinations or weekly testing at NMS will not go into effect at this time.

My boss and I were banished on 1/10, but the memo says it's lifted for now, so off I went.

Now I just came in from shoveling 6-8" of snow off the deck...light and fluffy, but it was still snowing the whole time. The ducks came up, but it's hard to find cracked corn in the deep snow, but they are working on it.

I hear ya on the snow-plow situation. During our deep freeze last year, our two towns here had to “borrow” snowplows from the airport that sits halfway between the two towns. We’re lucky to get some sand on the bridges during an ice storm. I don’t even want to know how much we put out for repairing or replacing railings along the roads. LOL!

Guess I’m gonna watch one more show and then head out because of the early morning wake up. See ya tomorrow night. We’ll be thinking about y’all freezing over there...just hoping it doesn’t happen to us next. :)

We’ll only be holed up for a couple of days and are more than provisioned to handle that. It’ll warm up Tuesday.

You got a lot more snow than I thought you would. In Lake Hood chat, someone had said around 3 inches were expected but it did look like more than that was coming down. Poor ducks trying to dig their supper out of the snow.

Heh! Love the memo from work. It probably pains them to have to hold off.
I hope the roads weren’t too bad when you went in. With the warm-up you’ve had, they’re probably pretty slushy.

They put brine on the roads here IF it doesn’t rain a lot before snow comes in. Rain will just wash it off. They didn’t put any down the last two storms we had the first week of this month for that reason and I’d say they didn’t put any out today.

It won’t be brutally cold here. Just cold enough to keep the snow around for a day or so. if it’s pretty enough, I plan to walk around the farm a bit with the camera. I enjoy taking snow pix.

Make it ONE more show! Otherwise you’ll REALLY hate your alarm clock in the morning. :-)

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Were you able to take Gizmo to the lake yesterday or was the wind still too wild?

We did get to spend a few minutes out at the lake yesterday but it never got about freezing and it still was a little bit windy out there. Gizmo seems to do a much better job of handling this weather then I can.

Today we're forecast to reach into the low 50's for a high today. This should allow me to do a lot more wheeling and dealing with Gizmo and the lake today.

Another thing that helped out was the 7 hours of sleep last night after that all night sleep depraving wind event. I'm feeling much more up and at 'em this morning then I did 24 hours ago.

Here are the pics from yesterday. I only did two.

Glad to hear you were able to make it out for a little while at least. Couldn’t have been too comfy with the temp that low and it being windy. Aren’t you glad your area missed out on the snow and ice?

Today should be a much nicer day for your outing. Getting a good night’s sleep for a change will help too. :-)

It’s so cold right now it just MIGHT be too cold for snow? Of course, my Inuit Ancestors might debate that.

Good Morning Kathy! (((HUGS))) Ya, snow all gone, just a little trace here and there. Hard to believe that last weekend it was half way to my knees. Heading out Wednesday for a four day route.

Howdy, Kathy! ((hugs))

It was a very good day and yes, I did get a nap even though it was kind of short.

Hope your day was nice and quiet and that no work was done. :)
