CDC recommends some coronavirus patients wait 90 days to get vaccine (monoclonal should wait 90 days)

One year old but applicable due to new CMS mandate.

COVID-19 patients treated with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma should wait 90 days before getting the vaccine, the CDC says.

Despite having recovered from the coronavirus vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends people who had COVID-19 still get the COVID-19 vaccine, but not too soon, depending on the treatment received.

The CDC recommends waiting 90 days to get the COVID-19 vaccine if a person recovered from a COVID-19 infection and was treated with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma.

According to the CDC, those two treatment methods and their interactions with the current coronavirus vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna have not yet been studied. Until more information is available about how these treatments could interact with the vaccine, the CDC says it is best to wait.

The full effect of what could happen is currently unknown, but the CDC said if someone doesn't wait for the 90 days, their immune response could be affected for potential reinfection of SARS-CoV-2.

The CDC said people who tested positive, having only mild symptoms, and were not treated for the coronavirus should wait until their doctor-recommended isolation period is over before getting the vaccine.

The CDC recognized that people who received the vaccine have died, like the person in Placer County who died after receiving the coronavirus vaccine and testing positive for COVID-19 a month prior. Placer County officials have not yet reported what treatments the person received or if the person's death was related to the vaccination or previous infection. The CDC said these cases are rare.

One year old but afaik, still valid and in this case, applies to my wife because she works at a nursing home that accepts medicare/medicaid so the CMS mandate will affect her. We just got over COVID and she got the mAb infusion so she'll need to wait before getting the jab. I stumbled across this today when looking for info on how long after COVID to wait to get a jab. Israel, UK, UE say 90 days on that but US doesn't. Israel also counts a prior COVID case as one mRNA jab.

So if you or someone you know had the mAb infusion recently and also works in health care, this is important. Wait 90 days between mAb and jab.

I wish the CDC would just shut up!

Have they been correct about anything?

ESSENTIAL information, especially if one is going to get Moderna.

Moderna = 3x Pfizer.

And while we’re on the subject, let’s consider “booster”.

2x Pfizer + 1 Pfizer “booster” = 1 Moderna.

ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for anyone with 2x Moderna to get a “booster”.

People who received passive antibody products

Currently, there are limited data available on the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in people who received passive antibody products (anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma) as part of COVID-19 treatment or post-exposure prophylaxis. Based on the estimated half-life of such products and the anticipated period of protection against infection (when receiving anti-SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibodies for post-exposure prophylaxis) or reinfection (when receiving passive antibody therapy for treatment), COVID-19 vaccination should be temporarily deferred as a precautionary measure during the time period specified below after receiving passive antibody products to avoid potential interference of the product with vaccine-induced immune responses:

However, if passive antibody products and a COVID-19 vaccine dose are administered within these recommended deferral periods (30 or 90 days), the vaccine dose does not need to be repeated.

I guess. Glad I stumbled across it before the wife ends up having to get the jab. She/we got COVID after testing positive at the nursing home she works at and she got the mAb infusion three weeks ago. This should buy her some time and with any luck, congress or Missouri will do something to stop this but I'm not holding my breathe. I have no idea if CMS will take this into consideration and inform health care facilities about it. Kind of important.

“I wish the CDC would just shut up!”

Me too. Everyone who is going to get vaxxed has gotten vaxxed. Everyone who isn’t, isn’t. They should shut up and try getting ahead of the next variant.

Why would you get the jab after you have recovered from th disease? Do you get the measles vax after you recover from the measles? What about the mumps? What about chicken pox?

My wife is going to choose JAB or JOB because she works at a nursing home that accepts medicare/medicaid due to the new mandate that the supreme court said is ok.

Everything done with regards to COVID has been stupid.

Placer County officials have not yet reported what treatments the person received or if the person’s death was related to the vaccination or previous infection. The CDC said these cases are rare.

It’s not rare when it happens to you.

There is plenty of info on this link to allow her to get a religious exemption. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1163601254149704

Thanks. She’s on facebook so I’ll give her the link. Tells me I need to log in to see it. While we are Christian, we don’t attend church. We are in the Bible belt so that’ll probably be the way to go.

What about the jab mandate deadline in her case?

Not waiting 90 days would mess with that.

And she has to wait 90 days before getting the jab.

When is the deadline for getting the shot?

Deadline was a few days before the SC made their decision but CMS won’t be citing any facilities until Feb 9th. I saved the CDC url so she’ll have that as ammo. We’re going to look into religious exemption. Being Missouri, I imagine they’ll be pretty lenient on that.

I would recommend finding a church family. True Bible believing family. However at the task at hand, that is not required. Personal belief, is well, personal. Good luck.
