‘We are beyond the point of exhaustion’: Massachusetts hospital leaders issue dire warning amid omicron surge

Massachusetts hospital executives, terrified over the crush of coronavirus patients threatening to overwhelm the state’s health care infrastructure, issued a dire warning Friday to the public as caregivers are now “beyond the point of exhaustion.”

The commonwealth has just days — not weeks — to change the trajectory of the omicron surge, said Steve Walsh, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association.

“We are counting on the people of the commonwealth to take this message seriously and help lift our providers up in their greatest time of need,” Walsh said in a statement. “There is nothing our healthcare organizations care about more than being there for their patients and communities.”

In mid-December, Walsh had already sounded the alarm to lawmakers, describing the post-Thanksgiving spike in hospitalizations as “terrifying.” At the time, he warned hospital capacity was stretched more than ever and putting pressure on health care workers “every single day.”

People must mask at all times in public, as well as get vaccinated and boosted as soon as people, to preserve hospital resources, the association pleaded.

...

For now, the association said, weary health care personnel leave work only to find people unmasked people in supermarkets and other settings that can easily spread infections.

“We must continue to fuel their hope through the decisions we make every day,” the association said.

So I must get the jab and booster of the "vax" that doesn't stop the spread, infection or sickness of the variant, and wear a mask because the jab doesn't work.

Then I'm supposed to wear a mask when grocery shopping to "fuel the hope" of the nurses.

Maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't have fired the unjabbed nurses and other staff you would have more help, just saying.

I’d bet good money that their emergency rooms look normal if not empty. I’d also bet good money that they have plenty of ICU space available.

would probably be cheaper to give everyone over 50 a free gym membership and Weight Watchers subscription.

Ban The Bulge
Take some vitamins
and Get Off Your Arse . . .
then, lets see what happens.

How about you allow people to use Ivermectin and skip the hospital?

Then the hospitals must hire back all the people they have fired or forced to quit the lying pieces of sh*t.

Gee, I have an idea
Offer early outpatient treatment instead of just telling
folks to stay home and take tylenol

Even giving them benadryl and a quart of milk

Yep, if they are over worked, and that's a big if, then it's YOUR fault. You deny Ivermectin and HQC so people who could self treat at home and be healthy in days see their situation deteriorate because YOU deny them safe and effective treatment in your unyielding effort to protect your debunked vax religious dogma.

So shut up and stop your bellyaching!

It always amazed how many overweight folks work in hospitals. It must be the rough schedules? Poor diet?

My wifes been a nurse in a large Boston hospital for 20 years. Nurses are sick of mandates. They know the vaccines dont work well. They know masking does very little. They know vax mandates have made them have to work shorthanded every day. Then covid positive staff can work with patients? Or all of a sudden a 10 day quarantine cut to 5 in one day. These are the solutions to the lack of help. The nurses know the short staff leads to inferior health care...and its all out of their control, they do their best. Then to hear ,we need more adherence to these useless mandates to ease this stress for them? They must all want to puke. Try kicking in some aid so they can hire travelling nurses.

I notice that is said “hospital executives”. I wonder, what the actual hospital personnel - particularly the nurses, have to say? Is it really as dire as the “executives” say, or are they just using fear tactics?
