German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht on Thursday warned against drawing a link between the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, meant to transport natural gas from Russia to Germany, and the differences with Moscow over Ukraine.

"We should not drag (Nord Stream 2) into this conflict," Lambrecht told the broadcaster rbb in an interview.

"We need to solve this conflict, and we need to solve it in talks - that's the opportunity that we have at the moment, and we should use it rather than draw a link to projects that have no connection to this conflict."

I don't get it. How could Lambrecht ever imagine that energy contracts would not get caught up in other international affairs?

Freezing Germans need natural gas to heat up their homes in winter.
This “if you in invade Ukraine we are going to freeze to death” was never going to work.
Let Dementia Joe sleep in a freezing room all winter and lets see how he likes it.

Christine Lambrecht is another SDP member. The SDP has been a bought and paid for extension of the Russian foreign ministry since Gerhard Schroeder. They have also held the defense portfolio most of the past 20 years, where they have carefully overseen the almost complete dismantlement of NATO's second largest army, the Bundeswehr.

The Gazprom project funnels money directly to the SDP and its politicians.

Shutting off the pipes to Europe would be the first thing Putin would do. Watch how cold it gets in Munich without Russian fuel.

UnwashedPeasant :" Let’s give Putin Germany."

Germany has already been compromised by their dependence on Russian Natural gas.
Now let's see is France falls into line also.

I really doubt Putin is so mean as to make the Germans freeze, but if his pipeline just happens to develop ‘technical problems’ during a deep freeze this winter...oh well, those are the breaks!
