Novak Djokovic admits to lying on Australian entry declaration in detailed Instagram post

Novak Djokovic has sensationally admitted to lying on his entry declaration, saying “human error” was the cause of his faulty entry declaration – amid growing concerns over the world No.1’s movements around the time of his positive Covid result last December.

Djokovic took to Instagram on Wednesday as he waited for further clearance on his visa application – which was again delayed by a further 24 hours after further submissions from his legal team over a possible cancellation by Immigration Minister Alex Hawke.

But in doing so he made the significant admission that he had incorrectly ticked a box on his entry declaration saying he hadn’t travelled within 14 days of arriving in Australia – when in fact he had been in both Serbia and Spain.

“On the issue of travel declaration, this was submitted by my support team on my behalf – as I told immigration officials on my arrival – and my agent sincerely apologises for the administrative mistake in ticking the incorrect box about my previous travel before coming to Australia.

To be clear - the false information that Djokovic provided has nothing to do with his claim of a vaccine exemption. It's a completely different question.

Normally, it probably wouldn't be that big a deal and I think it's reasonable for him to claim it was just a mistake. But at the moment, because of everything else, it could wind up being important.

Especially seeing he's basically saying his claim of a vaccine exemption was also based on a misunderstanding. They start to add up.

He’s ticked the wrong box- so what? Is he a national security risk (nation being the land of imbeciles)?

I know he’s a proud man, but if I was Novak, I’d simply flip off the fascists and cancel the Australian Open from my schedule as long as I’m playing.

As we glean more and more every day about this massive, astonishing scam the worldwide Left has pulled on us, the nations that went along with it in quest of power or profit should be shunned, perhaps in perpetuity, by all clear-thinking people.

The 14 day question isn’t particularly about COVID - from memory, it’s been on the declaration for years.

Quite seriously, if they wanted to, they could put him on trial for this, and he could go to prison.

So I wouldn’t joke about it.

The bureaucrats are combing through every form and documents to try to find some reason to deport Djokovic.

This admission by Djokovic will be used against him- as the form needs to be filled by the same person and not others.

Although this question has no implication, it will still be used by bureaucrats who are determined to cancel his visa.

The media and the Australian govt are determine to stop Djokovic by any means - as he is anti vax in a nation full of Vaccine obsessed nutcases who think unvaxed are scums and threat to social norms.

How long before Nokak tells the truth: the Australian Open is a joke of a major. Has been for decades. It isn’t on a different surface, like the French Open or Wimbledon; it doesn’t have a relatively raucous crowd like the U.S Open. The Australian Open is lame. It’s a fake major. Rod Laver was quite a long time ago. Novak might say it out loud. He probably should.

a fine-able offense.

if you ever watched Border Security Australia, you will know it deals almost exclusively with people who lie on their declaration forms, especially as it relates to food items they are bringing in, which often could destroy Australia’s agriculture industry.

naughty, naughty. food confiscated, fine of around US$250.

He is from Serbia, so that shouldn’t count. Spain is home court for Nadal.

Australia has the option of deporting Djokovic and thereby destroying their most important sporting event. Choose wisely!

a fine-able offense.

Normally, yes. But it does carry a potential twelve month prison term.

Hmmm - tennis or border security and national sovereignty. Difficult choice.

I don’t want to see him deported but framing it in those terms really is a fairly odd argument.

He really is making Australia look bad, isn’t he? Sorry. At this point, I don’t believe anything coming out of the controlled press of the People’s Republic of Australia.

A mistake is not a lie. In any event it isn't pertinent. He had covid, he is naturally immune. The judge has ruled he's in.

And by the way I do watch Border Security Australia on occasion - mostly while waiting for the news to come on. No idea how widely it’s broadcast, but anybody who has seen it, knows what a joke the claim that’s been repeatedly made on Freerepublic over recent days, that just because somebody was allowed on a flight to Australia, must mean they had a completely valid visa for entry really is.

A mistake is not a lie.

The question is pretty clear and makes it absolutely explicitly clear that providing false information is a serious offence. It's not just a mistake.

In any event it isn't pertinent. He had covid, he is naturally immune. The judge has ruled he's in.

This is a completely separate issue to that in law, and it could come back to bite him. The Minister has the power to deport him for any reason. This would give the Minister a perfect excuse if he wants to exercise that power. I hope the Minister doesn't do that, and Djokovic has been sensible (and/or well advised) to get this statement out quickly.

No, but you seem to have believed all sorts of bullcrap spread about Australia on the internet including the idea we have a ‘controlled press’.
