President Biden insisted that 'everything is fine' Tuesday as he flew to Atlanta to deliver a major speech on voting rights snapping at a reporter who questioned him about an activist boycott and a snafu involving former candidate for governor Stacey Abrams. Asked if he was insulted by the absence of Abrams, which Biden described as a scheduling conflict, he responded, 'I’m insulted that you asked the question. I spoke to Stacey this morning. We have a great relationship. We got our scheduling mixed up. I talked to her at length this morning. We're all on the same page, and everything's fine.' Asked what he risked politically, given where things stand in the Senate, Biden responded: 'I risk not saying what I believe. That’s what I risk. This is one of those defining moments. It really is. People are going to be judged where were they before and where were they after the vote. History is going to judge this. It's that consequential. And so the risk is making sure people understand just how important this is.'

So Stacey Abrams can’t make time in her schedule to meet the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?
Good to know.
not all Democrats are happy with Biden’s speech. A group of local voting and civil rights leaders are boycotting the president’s event in frustration with the lack of action on voting rights, arguing the Biden administration is more concerned about optics than results. The Asian American Advocacy Fund, Black Voters Matter Action Fund, GALEO Impact Fund, Inc., New Georgia Project Action Fund and Black Voters Matter announced ahead of Biden’s visit that they will not attend.
Abrams’ campaign did not detail the ‘conflict’ that is causing her to miss the president’s speech.
Convincing senators?
There aren’t many to convince, aside from Manchin and Sinema, and that’s going to involve backchannel pressure and bribery, if it works.
Domestic Enemy #1 in GA to Seal the Steal Forever
Biden was assured there would never be any questions. Only naps, pudding, and diaper changes.
so where is abrams today? must be a high profile event to skip supporting biden
where’s stacey?
The Senate is also trying to approve the Freedom to Vote Act. Manchin took the lead on this legislation after he and other senators couldn’t support the House-passed For The People Act.
The Freedom to Vote Act tones down provisions in the House bill that expanded voter registration, early voting, mail-in voting and restrictions on campaign finance. It also makes Election Day a holiday.
The questioner should have responded “I’m insulted that you’re the president but here we are. Now, answer the question. Where is the governor of Georgia on this?”
Yeah, she had an appointment to have her nails done. Terrible schedule conflict.
Ha! Likely so.
Here’s the #1 comment on DM UK, and it’s very, appropriate:
“The devil went down to Georgia...”
So, the reporter curled up into the fetal position and begged for mercy?
..and this is right under it :)
“He was looking for a vote to steal...”
Can you imagine the hullabaloo if Trump had said this? Biden get away with it because the press is generally in the tank for Dems.
She’s running for governor again, and the last thing she needs is to be associated with Brandon. I don’t like her but I don’t blame her for keeping her distance.
“...because the press is generally in the tank for Dems.:
As in...septic tank?
We all know why Stacey doesn’t want to be seen with Biben. He’s toxic and no one wants to be around with a lose. However, even I would rearrange my schedule to be with Biden, just out of respect for the office and tell him “Fuck You” to his face, out of disrespect to him as an individual.
