Germany will pull the plug on three of its last six nuclear power stations on Friday, another step towards completing its withdrawal from nuclear power as it turns its focus to renewables.

The government decided to speed up its phasing out of nuclear power following Japan's Fukushima reactor meltdown in 2011 when an earthquake and tsunami destroyed the coastal plant in the world's worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl 25 years earlier.

The reactors of Brokdorf, Grohnde and Gundremmingen C, run by utilities E.ON and RWE, will be shut down on Friday after three-and-a-half decades in operation.

The last three nuclear power plants — Isar 2, Emsland and Neckarwestheim II — will be turned off by the end of 2022.

The phase-out of an energy deemed clean and cheap by some is an irreversible step for Europe's biggest economy...

I’m sure the Germans got a guarantee from Putin not to ever mess with their deliveries of natural gas before going down this ridiculous path.

Notice European countries and even states in the US are now, regularly, announcing energy alerts that black outs are now part of the “new norm” because of a “colder than expected” winter or “hotter than expected” summer.

In other words - they KNOW that wind and solar can’t supply the energy needs. But they keep up with the climate change charade.

It’s all magical religious thinking.

Gerbils on treadmill generators can produce a lot of power if everyone in Germany buys about 100 of them and uses little tiny spurs to make them run.

The elites will have all the diesel generators and high end services they need. Everyone else will go back to burning coal and candle wax.

Let’s see.

We are in the midst of a critical energy shortage.

We worship Earth Mother Gaia and are willing to sacrifice our economy on the alter of “global warming”. Ergo, we want to eliminate carbon emissions.

We have a source of reliable domestic energy that produces zero carbon emissions.

I’ve got it! Let’s shut them all down immediately!

Those Germans sure are smart.

Actually, they are giving up their energy independence to gain dependence on the Russian energy sector.

Especially considering the government-driven push for electric vehicles.

The six nuclear power plants contributed to around 12% of electricity production in Germany in 2021.

That means that about one in eight krauts will be rubbing two sticks together to start their wood stoves to avoid freezing to death.

Many of the homes in Germany have floors that are heated with hot water coils {excellent heating, but expensive, both in dollars and watts}.

The Germans have always been so practical, it is hard to believe that the majority of the population favors this insanity.

Safe, clean energy for a fanatical religious belief.

Brilliant! And when Putin threatens to cut off Nord Stream gas next winter they’ll have even less domestic supplies to fall back on.

And German think they’re the sharpest knives in the drawer. NOT!

The goal is to have shortages so as to control the people. Reducing capacity below demand is the whole point, not an accident or a side-effect of chasing ‘climate change.’

Approaching this as if obviously everyone needs heat and energy and pointing out the flaws in so-called-green methods is useless — the people in charge of this stuff know it already and are counting on it.

The disease angle is to get compliance normalized, and combined this is a means to force obedience by the threat of damage and/or death.
