The Republican gubernatorial primary in Georgia is already proving to be bitterly divisive, but the two candidates are on the same page when it comes to at least one issue: Constitutional Carry. Both incumbent governor Brian Kemp and his Trump-approved challenger David Perdue say they support the idea, which could dramatically improve the odds of success when the 2022 legislative session kicks off in early January.

This should have been done years ago.
It was done 230 years ago.
As long as Ralston is GA speaker it will never get to the floor for a vote. Kemp got elected last time saying he supported CC. Ralston needs to go.
The idea? How about they support what the Constitution says?
Agree on the Constitutional carry but after living in Maryland for awhile which is a “may issue” state that almost never allows them and retiring in Georgia, getting a weapons license here in Georgia was pretty easy to begin with it just takes a minor effort and the wife and I had both ours in less than 2 weeks.

This has been brought to the legislature before, under Kemp. It went nowhere.
Nothing but Kemp, and Perdue, playing to the voters. But Kemp is grasping at straws that aren’t even there. He knows he’s toast.
They had a chance to ban ‘mail in voting and drop boxes’ with the election law signed earlier this year. The folks that wrote it were ordered to remove any of that language, otherwise it wasn’t getting a vote. They did and the watered down law passed.
Now another sc*mbag Country Club Republican in Georgia, Butch Miller, wants to ban both. Because now he’s all about election integrity. Hmmmm....he wasn’t all about it last year or this year when Favorito was trying to get the audit done.
The Republican’s in Georgia are absolutely pathetic. And so amateurish that it’s laughable.
Thank the Lord they had the sense to stop playing the commercials for Raffensberger. I’m sure he still has some IOUs to pay, but he’s done.
If Kemp wants/needs it to get re-elected, Ralston will allow it.
The current crop of those in the leadership positions want to maintain those spots. If bringing this bill to the floor might save Kemp, it will get a vote and pass.
Although, I am against it for certain reasons, if it passes I won’t be upset.
Kemp and Ralston had a wink wink on CC. Don’t look for Ralston to change his stance.
What’s more important? Keeping Kemp on West Paces Ferry Rd or allowing folks to carry guns?
Georgia has some of the best gun laws in the country. Getting a CCW is easy peasy, anyway. All the violence happens in the Democrat cities. And the bad guys still can’t buy a gun legally. At the end of the day, all this does is take away the fee the state and probate courts charge for the paperwork, finger prints and ID card.
Again, I’m against this for other reasons.
This is about keeping Kemp on West Paces Ferry Rd. Nothing more.
Because, for damned sure, Butch Miller will present this to the Senate for a vote. When it passes there, unanimously, the pressure will be on Ralston. And he ain’t all that and a bag of chips. Especially after last November and January.
What the GA supreme Court ruled in 1846. This was after GA passed a law against privately owned handguns in that state.

I’ve been angry over this for years. The conservative legislators have been pushing the bill for a long time. Kemp did nothing to push it and neither will Perdue. Our state legislature is mostly RINOs. Just like our governors and senators.
Only because we keep electing RINOs. Time to sort them out and send them back to the Piedmont Driving Club.
I agree which is why I would not vote for David Perdue. Or Vernon Jones.
Unfortunately, Perdue is going to be the only thing preventing Abrams.
So, once again, it’s hold our collective noses and tap the screen for Perdue.
I looked up Taylor. Agree with everything and I’m sure she’s quite capable. But a school teacher isn’t going to be the Governor of Georgia. If she gets a little time in the legislature I’d vote for her in a minute, but she has no background.
The biggest issue we have in the state is the fact that our legislature is made up of corrupt old heads and frat boys.
