An alarming admission was found near the bottom of a recent New York Times article about pharmaceutical giant Merck’s new Covid drug molnupiravir.
Approved by the FDA two weeks ago, the drug was studied on isolated hamster cells for 32 days before being given the green light.
While the FDA narrowly voted to recommend emergency use authorization for the drug, France’s National Authority of Health on Friday cited the pill’s own lack of efficacy as it ruled it will not be used in the European nation.
According to the NYT report, “A team of researchers at the University of North Carolina studied the use of molnupiravir in isolated hamster cells over 32 days and found that the drug did induce mutations in DNA. Those mutations could ‘contribute to the development of cancer, or cause birth defects either in a developing fetus or through incorporation into sperm precursor cells,’ the authors of that study wrote.”
Nothing to see here, just the New York Times casually mentioning that Merck’s new miracle COVID drug…
Might actually mutate healthy human DNA by accident. pic.twitter.com/WYVgKetOU2
— Cabot Phillips (@cabot_phillips) December 13, 2021 The article goes on to explain that the Merck drug only targets dividing cells, which are sparse in adults, in order to pose less of a risk to the DNA.
One of the researchers who worked on the UNC hamster study, Ronald Swanstrom, argued that adults have enough dividing cells to cause concern.
Specifically, Swanstrom said males are constantly creating dividing sperm cells that could potentially carry mutations.
“The FDA advisers also noted that the risks could extend to other patients, including men wanting to become fathers, though those risks remain poorly understood and Merck said its own studies had turned up no evidence that the drug causes DNA mutations,” the Times article stated.
Allowing a drug like this to be sold is just more proof the federal government is completely sold out to Big Pharma.
But otherwise is safe and effective./S
Clown world.

“buried near the bottom of the article” - precisely, because that is one of the ways Pravda On the Hudson writes editorials pretending to be news reports.
I don’t know how you go about developing a drug designed to mutate viruses to death, and not expect some scary side effects.
Might actually mutate healthy human DNA by accident.
well, that should protect us from law suits.
As soon as Paxlovid is granted EUA, you will never hear of the Merck drug again.
For an early treatment therapy for COVID-19, in my opinion, a person is clinically insane if they take Merck’s mutagenic molnupiravir or authorizes administering it to anyone they care about.
Waiting for the FR Vaxholes to still defend the vaxxes because, you know, “science”...
The Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin coverup by the government and big pharmacy pisses me off. Republican Politicians are too stupid to bring up the matter.
All I know is Nuremburg II is going to have to deal with a helluva lot more people.
Which is why it drives me absolutely crazy when otherwise intelligent, well meaning people glibly tell me (others) to get vaccinated because they got vaccinated and they implore that they’re “perfectly safe”. They, like everyone else, has no idea of the long-term consequences. They parrot this so that the liberal establishment will leave them alone and not be critical of them. In my opinion, that’s a complete sellout.
The biowarfare continues. Working so hard to force us to take toxic ‘shots’ means that anything else they want us to do is equally bad or worse. It’s not like they’re going to release a drug that helps us.
Waiting for the democrat/media/big pharma/Faux-xi cheerleaders on here to say the death serum is perfectly safe with 98% efficacy.
I think they really believe what they are hearing. And so much of what they believe doesn't make sense.
Example: An acquaintance was carrying on about the horrid evil unmasked and unvaxed people who are jammed into the malls doing their Christmas shopping. He said, "Because of them we're never going to get herd immunity."
Sorry, but if the NYTs is reporting this, then I have to wonder what the real agenda is. Take down Merk in order to act as a media fluffed for Pfizer?
Wikipedia says it’s 30% effective at preventing hospitalization and death. Not really a wonder drug.
My sister-in-law has gotten both jabs, and a booster. I have no idea which company the shots were from. She'll be 75 next week. She has cardiac arrhythmia for which she takes medication. She recently had a spot on the back of her left leg that was diagnosed as melanoma. There has been cancer in her family, but no melanoma. Last week they removed the spot, and a tumor in the calf. They had to keep cutting to make sure they got it all, and she's seeing a plastic surgeon tomorrow about skin grafts. They also removed some lymph nodes from her groin area during the surgery. When I spoke to her this past Sunday, she hadn't gotten the test results on the tumor yet. Because nobody had made plans to put a drainage tube in the leg at the time of the surgery, a visiting nurse had to come to her house to do it on Friday, December 3rd, 2-3 days after the surgery. As of this past Sunday, the 12th, she still had the drainage tube in, with no idea when it would be removed. They can't do any skin grafts until the tube is gone. My sister-in-law wasn't one to sunbathe, but would sit periodically in a regular lawn chair in the sun during the summer. I question whether that melanoma and tumor were actually caused by the sun, because of where it was located. Shouldn't she have ended up with a spot someplace that had actually been exposed to the sun?
Is it me, or have they crawled back into the woodwork. I haven't seen any of them on any of the threads I've been on. Maybe I've missed their comments.
