That’s the way I want to go. God’s favor was with him.

They never called him a “giant” back then. They called him the same names they called us. He kind of ran against Clinton and then made Viagra commercials. RIP, Bob.

I will always remember him for his efforts to get a balanced budget amendment passed and just couldnt get the votes to get it over the line.

And for those who do not admire this great man, he was FAR FAR FAR a better senate leader than McConnell.

Then, his war service.

Lung cancer should not be on anyone’s list of the way to go.

I suspect SeekAndFind who posted that Meant to die in their sleep, not die of lung cancer.

Not unexpected as the man was almost 100 years old. He lived a full life and served us all well in WW2 as well as the Senate. Also, he was a steadfast Trump supporter in his later years and proudly attended his inauguration despite his advanced age.

Never forget that the Left ridiculed this fine man when he "dared" run against the Predator-in-Chief back in 1996. Dole was never my choice to be on the GOP ticket but he did not deserve the treatment he got either. So all praise now coming from the Democrat side of the fence rings hollow with me.

I also think that Jack Kemp’s disastrous debate with Gore didn’t help matters.

He would have won had the GOP not had that third party person running as well.

RIP. He would have been a better pick in 88 than GHWB by a long shot.

RE: Lung cancer should not be on anyone’s list of the way to go.

I was looking at the first paragraph of the article. I never mentioned lung cancer.

Bob Dole was there, with us, when the clowns known as the Bush family ran for their media friends from all that America stands for. He was there, with us, at the convention in 2016 strongly supporting Trump when Romney, McCain and the execrable two Bush crybabies refused to do so and kissed every media and leftwing butt they could find. He was there in WW2 at Monte Cassino and in the paralysis wards of the veterans’ hospitals. Bob Dole was always there, and we lost a great friend today.
