Pope condemns treatment of migrants in Europe
BBC News ^ | December 5, 2021

The Pope has denounced "narrow self-interest and nationalism" over the way Europe treats migrants.

Speaking on the Greek island of Lesbos, where he met dozens of migrants, Pope Francis said they were being used for political propaganda.

He urged focus on the causes of migration, such as "forgotten wars", instead of punishing those who feel their effects.

And he criticised the building of walls to keep people out.

"In Europe there are those who persist in treating the problem as a matter that does not concern them - this is tragic," he said.

"History teaches us that narrow self-interest and nationalism lead to disastrous consequences."

While the coronavirus pandemic had shown that major challenges had to be confronted together and there were some signs of this happening on climate change, there was little sign of such an approach to migration, he said.

"It is easy to influence public opinion by instilling fear of the other," Pope Francis said.

"The remote causes should be attacked, not the poor people who pay the consequences and are even used for political propaganda."

The Pope cited war, economic agreements "where the people have to pay" and the flow of weapons as factors leading people to seek a better life elsewhere.

When he sells Vatican treasures to feed the hungry, then he will be taken seriously. One thing is certain. This pope is no stranger to political propaganda.

Cardinal Gerhard Müller Calls COVID-Related Sacrament Restrictions ‘Grave Sin’

https://www.ncregister.com/interview/cardinal-gerhard-mueller-calls-covid-related-sacrament-restrictions-grave-sin

In an interview with the Register, the German cardinal also warned against bishops and priests who ‘offer themselves as courtiers to the rulers of this world and make themselves their propagandists.’

Some politicians, mainstream media and Big Tech have “ruthlessly exploited” COVID-19 to promote “totalitarian thinking” that has even led to division within families, Cardinal Gerhard Müller has observed.

In a Dec. 1 email interview with the Register, the prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith also said that the response of some bishops and priests to close churches or deny the sacraments is a “grave sin” that goes against their “God-given authority.”

A small minority of dioceses in Germany have been restricting Masses to the vaccinated or those recently recovered from the virus. Such a decision, as well as closure of some churches, was “shocking proof of how far the secularization and de-Christianization of thought has already reached the shepherds of Christ’s flock,” the German cardinal said.

The Catholic Church and governments, he added, must “work towards social cohesion” and avoid divisive rhetoric that labels some as “conspiracy theorists” or “sinners against charity.” He also said bishops and priests “must not offer themselves as courtiers to the rulers of this world and make themselves their propagandists.”

Jesuitical political propaganda from a false pope. The Greek island of Lesbos... how ironic. Right in the Greek’s faces, saying this crap to a country overrun by HIS illegal migrant human trafficking, including clear enemies of the Church— the islamic hordes being funneled through there. The Hungarian Prime Minister presented a year 1200 letter to the then Pope about just such a “migration” of muslims being prevented. It was a phenomenal response to this false pope.

Greece has STILL not been paid war reparations from WWII by Germany. This was a feature in the hammer handed EU riding over financial issues with Greece vs. the EU (which Germany still controls, the last gasps being the ultra Leftists who have taken over from Merkel- the not so closet Nazi Socialist from East Germany of old.

Let’s fix that lie.

History teaches us that Communism leads to disastrous consequences.

What the hell is a migrant, much less a distinctly non Catholic migrant, that the Pope should make them a protected class?

Why doesn’t he criticize their home countries for making truly terrible conditions?

And being the Pope, why the H doesn’t he ask them to convert?

Just self destructive insanity.

I’ll believe the Vatican practices what it preaches when it sells off the contents of the Vatican Museums and donates the proceeds to the poor.
