I'm afraid that this still doesn't really capture it. The GOP doesn't "cave." What happens is what McConnell, et al., want to happen in the first place. The notion that the GOP is actually opposed to Democratic policies is an errant one. And so long as those fools who vote for GOP candidates continue to do so, tell me, why should the GOP ever change? Why?
The idea that the GOP "caves" is a mirage.
No, not really. Only things on the fringes. Do a little red meat song-and-dance about extraneous issues like abortion or CRT, to keep the dimwit evangelicals and other rubes fooled, and that's all it takes. Meanwhile, the country is sold out completely to foreign/multinational interests.
I dare say that Mitch McConnell has more real, genuine concern for how Xi and the Chinese are faring than he does the U.S., much less Kentucky, or anybody living there.

Everybody wants to primary the GOP traiters but when it comes to the general, they’re all for reelecting them over the Democrat.
It’s time to get serious. Politicians win their primaries 93 percent of the time. Break the cycle. Don’t reelect GOP traiters in the general.
It is just foolish to contemplate with joy the shut down of the government days before the Christmas holidays. To advocate such an occurrence is pure political, ideological stupidity.

There is still an opportunity to cease funding the debt increase in February.
