What I want to know is this: Did her testimony and ID in a lineup put him in prison?

This case should be a reminder to every potential juror - those tearful eyewitness accounts can be very wrong.

Don’t take everything that is said at face value.

She needs to do 16 years as a sex offender in federal prison.

Only way to get close to what she did.

An apology is nothing from her. Its mere words.

She made a name for herself off this.

She needs to go to jail for a very long time.

Weather she truly believed he was the attacker or not, it was a false accusation.

False accusations of criminal actions should be punished.

If they result in conviction/imprisonment of the falsely accused, it should be severally punished.

That’s so nice of her! Now her conscience is clean and we can put this whole mess behind us.

You forgot the part where she pays him every cent she made from the book, then goes to prison for at least fifteen years.

Oh well if it was an honest mistake then that’s OK. No harm no foul. Except to the poor guy who lost 16 years of his life, and of course the woman who made the “honest mistake” should not suffer any consequences-after all she’s a woman and should not be held responsible kind of like the black whore who conspired with Nifong the frame the Duke lacrosse player.

Isn’t there any kind of difference at all between a mistake and doing something deliberately? The law differentiates between those two things and I’m all right with it.

Anyway, naturally people want to fight about what I said like it’s “too nice” or something. LOL! Y’all are funny like that. Don’t you get to fight enough at your job or whatever? No one to fight with or condemn at home? That’s too bad!

She’s rich. Maybe she already settled with the guy. I was just posting a story, not trying to enrage you. If you hate/fear/mistrust all women that’s your problem, not mine. Have a great day!

NO there isn't the least bit of difference as far as how it affected the poor schlep from whom she stole 16 years of his life. Where is the difference in the outcome?

If you kill someone by your actions whether intentional or not you still go to jail (unless you're a cop or Alex Baldwin) This was not an accident where she stepped on the gas instead of the brake. She deliberately identified this guy as a rapist. I figure she owes this guy 16 years of her life. Maybe everything she earned in the last 16 years? Life is finite you don't get more just because someone falsely accuses you of something and you go to jail for it.

Oh btw I'm not in the least enraged I'm simply pointing out the unbridgeable gap between a verbal apology and 16 years of someone's life - nice try to try and paint someone you disagree with as enraged and "fear/distrust all women" - worthy of a liberal Democrat. You must be an avid MSNBS/CNN watcher.

See? You don’t care about the content of the article, or anything - really - that was said about it. You just want to provoke someone into fighting and make it topical, dragging in all the news of the day, and then accuse me of being a liberal. Very predictable!

I would hate to be as bored as you! (Note: We do not have TV in this house.) Now, really: That’s enough. If you want to attack this famous chick who wrongly accused someone of raping her, then attack her. I just posted an article about it. Have. A. Nice. Day.

How could there have been any other evidence since the man did not have anything to do with the attack?
