George Soros-backed district attorneys are ruining America

Career criminal Darrell E. Brooks Jr. has emerged as the top suspect accused of plowing his red SUV through Waukesha, Wisconsin’s annual Christmas parade on Sunday, killing at least five people and injuring dozens of others, including children.

But just last week, Mr. Brooks was released from Milwaukee County jail on $1,000 bail for charges including battery, domestic abuse, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and bail-jumping. In July of last year, Mr. Brooks was charged with reckless endangerment and possessing a firearm as a felon. In addition, he’s a registered sex offender in Nevada.

“A background check from Wisconsin’s Department of Justice came back with over 50 pages of charges against Brooks stretching back decades,” Fox News reported this week.

Should he be found culpable in Sunday’s atrocities, Mr. Brooks clearly didn’t deserve to be back on the streets of Waukesha. And yet there he was, mainly due to an approach pushed by district attorneys across the country backed by liberal billionaire financier George Soros, an approach that champions such so-called “criminal justice reforms” as abolishing bail for hardened criminals.

Milwaukee’s District Attorney John Chisholm, one of a number of DAs around the country whose campaigns Mr. Soros has helped bankroll, has worked for the last 15 years to change the city’s approach to incarceration. In 2018, he tweeted how Milwaukee was making a commitment not to keep individuals held on cash bail in jail. When the pandemic hit, Milwaukee’s “woke” Community Justice Council recommended criminals needed to be let out of jail immediately. The city obliged, reducing its jail population by about 40%.

What legal code is in place to prevent oligarchs from purchasing jurists to do their bidding?

The Soros DA disease is all over the country. The very worst soft-on-crime Soros DAs are in San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Chicago.

"Darrell E. Brooks Jr. has emerged as the top suspect . . . "

That's kind of s strange way of describing an obvious fact that no one is questioning. That's the way you would describe it if the suspect was still at large. It almost sounds like the Babylon Bee.

I was reading about Soros DA’s years ago. If I knew about it the GOP knew about it. First step is to take over county and municipal offices and kick the GOP into helping.Shame, harass and browbeat them into helping get candidates into all those little positions. Conservatives can run and win. Everybody’s sick of the leftist craziness as well as do-nothing GOP slugs.

GOP already has enough safe seats — through redistricting alone — to win back House in ‘22

Republican-led states have already added enough safe seats through redistricting to flip control of the House of Representatives in next year’s midterm elections.

Republicans have already reconfigured enough districts to add five safe seats, which would be enough to flip the House majority if nothing else changes, according to a New York Times analysis.

Though people of color drove most of the nation’s population growth in the last census, some Republican states have aggressively packed voters of colors into single districts or failed to draw a single minority-majority district at all.

Many of the new maps have already been challenged by lawsuits, although a 2019 Supreme Court decision that allows federal courts to review gerrymanders that appear to be based on race — but not those designed simply for partisan advantage — is likely complicate the legal challenges.

Republicans have already added a net total of five seats, according to the Times, after completing redistricting in Texas, Iowa, North Carolina and Montana. Though Democrats are poised to add safe seats for themselves in states like New York, Illinois and Oregon, Republicans have total control of the redistricting process in states that represent 187 congressional districts while Democrats control just 75.

Some of the new maps build on existing districts that were already heavily gerrymandered by Republicans following the 2010 census.

The path back to a majority for Democrats if they lose in 2022 has to run through states like Texas, and they’re just taking that off the table.

Other Republican-led states are expected to produce similarly gerrymandered maps. Ohio Republicans are pushing a map that would give them 13 of the state’s 15 seats in the House, giving them 86% of seats even though Donald Trump won just just 53% of the vote in Ohio last year.
