Western powers are preparing sanctions against separatist Bosnian Serbs in a confrontation that could tear Bosnia apart and trigger a new Balkans conflict.
According to diplomatic sources, the US and UK are drawing up new measures to punish the nationalist Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, and Germany is leading a push for the European Union to follow suit.
Bosnia is run as an international protectorate under the terms of the US-brokered Dayton Accords after the savage inter-ethnic wars triggered by the break-up of the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
The US and European governments fear that Bosnia’s break-up will deal another blow to the West after the collapse of the western-backed Afghan government, and benefit growing Chinese and Russian influence.

Russia is a friend of Serbia. Both countries are Eastern Orthodox.
Now that we have bailed out of Afghanistan, I guess the military industrial complex needs another war to make money from.
Serbia took a beating slowing down the Germans on their way to Russia, and the Russians know this. They were humiliated when Bill Clinton bombed Serbia to get Monica off of the headlines.
Bill Clinton also bombed Serbia because they were Christian and he wanted to support Bin Lauden and the Kosovo Liberation Army.
This is where things went wrong in developing good ties with Russia, after the fall of Communism. We showed Russia we could not be trusted when we bombed thier friends in Serbia.
One last point anyone recall Milosovic saying that you will understand why we did what we did when their foot is on your neck?

these guys have been duking it out since the muslims fled Spain and settled in the Balkins under the Ottoman Empire and became 90% muslim, later allied with the Nazis.
