That last part, about delivering victory to Youngkin, is what this is really all about. I have little doubt that after McAwful lost and the polling showed exactly why (mask mandates and all Covid-related nonsense, plus obviously the education issue and McAwful’s tremendous error in saying that parents should have no role in their children’s education), some of the bigwigs in the DNC came to Weingarten and read him the riot act - because, big donor and supporter or not, the Dems are facing YUUUUGE losses next November because of these issues, and the Dems want them to disappear as much as possible.

The good thing is that ending mask mandates will show, nationwide, that the masks were ineffective; further, by being quiet on CRT and other education issues, the crazy Left will be less likely to turn out for the Dems. Oh, and at this point a LOT of parents are highly motivated to run for their local school board, or to at least take down those currently in power. This is NOT going away so fast...all part and parcel of the American Left’s biggest Achilles Heel - they ALWAYS overplay their hand, and get slaughtered in the next couple of election cycles as a result.
