I suspect Cruz would insist that it be done by amending the constitution rather than war. I think if it were done that way then there would be no war.
I tend to think the same thing for Florida, where I’ll be moving at the end of the week.
IIRC, South Carolina has legislation pending regard seceding. Don’t know where it stands in the process, but if SC goes, so goes the south.
Charleston harbor 1861 redux?

That’s what I thought but it may be a myth. There is nothing in the Constitution to forbid it. Texas vs. White was a divided court with politics (not law) ruling the day under Just. Chase. I say TEXIT, here we come!
TEXIT!
Note to Cruz: And just how will your state make up what it gets from Fedzilla?
Sort out your budget issues first otherwise your yap is writing checks your butt can’t cash.
I am ready for secession right now. We certainly do not have to worry about the US military.
Texas has a larger GDP than Russia.
All the Left has wanted was to destroy the United States
impact on the rest of the world.
This would accomplish that and leave China in the cat-bird’s
seat for centuries to come. (granted, something unforeseen
could end that, but it’s the near term reality.)
If Texas and other states break away, is anyone suffering
from the delusion that the federal government would allow
them to have nuclear weapons, a portion of the current
military services, troops, equipment, aircraft, pilots,
carriers, submarines?
The blue states would retain 100% of those things.
The blue states would have their national guard units, but
that would be a far cry from the full resources our nation
has today.
The blue states would welcome China in it’s new role.
There would be no entity on the planet that could and
would oppose China.
India is up and coming, but I don’t see it has a valid
offset to what China is becoming.
This doesn’t just pertain to planet Earth either.
China will rule space.
The socialists would sign off on anything China wanted,
in the interest of peace.
The world as we know it would be dead.
The socialists would stand by and watch China march in on
the former blue states, in their new role.
Good luck with that.
I don’t support secession or CWII/RWII at this time, but I think it’s coming. I’m not sure when.
I only see one hope of this not happening and this is for the NYT and the rest of the legacy media “coming to Jesus”, i.e., change to a truth-based agenda instead of a hate-based agenda (see Tagline). Sadly, it ain’t gonna happen.

Ted Cruz for President! (of Texas)
Sure, why not. Better than Cornyn.
All the states could effectively secede from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th and 17th Amendments.
If a state as big as Texas were to leave they’d take a passel of other states with them. Just don’t forget to take the nukes also, that was Ukraine’s mistake.
I would like the whole South to secede.
If at first you don’t secede, try, try again.
“If the Democrats end the filibuster, if they fundamentally destroy the country, if they pack the Supreme Court, if they make D.C. a state, if they federalize elections if they massively expand voter fraud there may come a point where it’s hopeless,”....
Spit.... you would think that stealing a national election would suffice in kicking starting the azz kicking. Yet, pretty much all hat and no cattle is what I’m seeing. Where are the consequences for brazen and in your face election theft?
And don’t even get me started on “vaxxing” our little ones.
