Ziccarelli surges to win Westmoreland district attorney race over Peck (Westmoreland County, PA shows country how to conduct elections).

For the first time in more than a quarter century, Westmoreland County will have a new top prosecutor.

With 100% of the county’s 307 precincts reporting Wednesday morning, Republican Nicole Ziccarelli erased an early lead held by six-term Democratic incumbent John Peck and claimed the race for district attorney.

Peck moved out to an early 6,000-vote lead by virtue of first 12,700 mail-in ballots reported by county election officials. Totals from votes cast in person on Election Day saw Ziccarelli steadily narrow the gap and with more than a third of the vote counted moved into the lead.

I am a little sorry but not surprised to see John Peck go. He is the last prominent Democrat to hold countywide office since our sheriff switched parties shortly after the 2020 debacle. Peck was the last of the decent Democrats, pro-life and pro-2nd amendment . . . and a tough prosecutor. But he was running for re-election with a "D" after his name in a year that China's puppet emperor wore out any thin welcome he ever had here.

Proud to be a part of Westmoreland's election team even as a lowly precinct judge. You notice we do things right by reporting the mail-in votes FIRST so the county is way beyond suspicion of creating votes after the polls close. What if every county in America was required to do this?

Amazing how those coattails of the “most popular resident” don’t seem to be too long.

...an early 6,000-vote lead by virtue of first 12,700 mail-in ballots...

Apparently their attempt at voter fraud wasn't good enough.

Seriously, a 6000 vote lead in the first 12,700 means that in those "mailed in" {yeah, right, wink wink} ballots roughly 9350 went D and 3350 went R. Or 73% to 26% and change... That's quite a disparity, a nearly 3:1 ratio in favor of D in allegedly mailed in ballots. Yet when people started going to the polls the R candidate showed strong enough to overcome this...

Seems fishy that "mail in" ballots would run so heavy for one candidate while verified in-person voting is running so hard the other way.

3 to 1 may not be out of line considering how little R inclined voters trust the process. We had a number of mail-in voters bring in their ballots to be voided so they could vote in person.

The lazy and indolent who would allow someone else to mark their ballot are overwhelmingly D.

I live in Westmoreland County and none of my friends will vote via mail {unless they will be gone during the election day}.

As a poll watcher {not during the off year elections}, I know first hand that pubbies in general, do not trust the mail in vote process.

I don't even trust the in person process, but it's the best we have.

In my opinion, every voter must be a legal citizen, with photo ID, and proof must be provided to vote, regardless of method selected.

That is the standard in most countries, including Mexico, and almost all European Countries.

“I know first hand that pubbies in general, do not trust the mail in vote process.”

Not saying that’s wrong, but by ceding the mail vote to the Rats that gives them “legitimacy” when that type of vote invariably goes massively in their favor. It’s not fraud, or so they’ll claim, just the fact that so many lazy Democrats vote by mail while Republicans actually get off their asses and go to the polling places.

And they’ll be sure to always count the mail ballots LAST in Rat-controlled areas, for the obvious reason.
