JustTheNews: Actor Alec Baldwin, a gun control activist who accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza with a live round from a gun during filming of the movie “Rust,” is the son of a high school riflery coach.
Baldwin’s father, Alexander Rae Baldwin, Jr., who died at the age of 55 in 1983, “was an expert marksman in riflery” who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps “for medical reasons after being shot, accidentally, during rifle instruction on Parris Island,” Baldwin wrote in a Father’s Day tribute for the Huffington Post in 2009.
Wonder if Alec took riflery in school. Just curious. I can’t even imagine Alec being gun ignorant. He’s been around them all his life. Wonder if his dad had a gun collection? We still don’t know where the deadly weapon came from originally.
Alec should have known better or at least had more cognizance about accidents and guns. Unfortunately I think his life long narcissism thinks nothing is his fault and anything bad that happens to him is also not his fault.
Ironic. A good prosecutor would attempt to talk about this during a trial, if defense does not quickly raise any objection for ‘prejudicial information’.
Didn’t learn much did he? Maybe he’s just slow. How old is he? Maybe he was a butt baby.
His Dad would kick his lame ass for being such a dbag
Maybe that’s the underlying reason for his anti-gun activism.
Except that really makes no sense...since Cancer took him at age 55.
His Dad apparently totally failed in training the kid.
Maybe, I don’t know anything special, but just maybe his dad did a good job. Dear old Alec was pissed off at the lady and was gonna scare her. He cocked the hammer, pointed the colt clone, pulled the trigger and fired a live round because he didn’t check the weapon. Maybe, Dad always said check, the old jarhead SOB.
"Accidentally" is yet to be determined...
A scene from the movie was not being captured at the time of the shooting.
Read on. They wanted to blame lead residue from an enclosed shooting range for the cancer. The range was demolished before testing, evidently.
I did see that.
I’ve heard conflicting stories about the training of the armorer. Her father was certainly competent with firearms. It doesn’t necessarily follow that she knew the trade.
It could be because Baldwin is a psychopath. If that is so, it makes this case very interesting. It could be murder one.
My information via a private source is to the effect that the set armorer had a tendency to be careless, resisted following instructions, and was argumentative. In short, she had a bad attitude. In contrast, good armorers are tenaciously safety minded and scrupulously follow gun safety rules.
Then that really makes any speculation about being ignorant of gun safety ring hollow.
I cannot fathom a father like that NOT drilling gun safety into his son’s head until it would be almost instinctive to him.
Sounds like a drunk. I’ve hypothesized that before. The last five years haven’t been kind to her.
I was taught how to shoot by a Franciscan priest in high school. It was a boot up your ass if you were being unsafe.
Doesn’t matter. Read my lips.
Alec received the weapon, apparently didn’t check it, cocked the freaking hammer, pointed it at a live person, applied enough trigger pressure “placed his booger hook in the trigger guard” , and pulled the trigger. Viola Charlotte, a dead lady with some kids at home. Learn it, love it, live it,
meet Bubba Alec, he’s your cell mate.
Why did Baldwin murder
