In psychiatry there's a disorder called "somatoparaphrenia".This disorder causes the person with it to deny ownership of one (or more) of his/her limbs.It's said that it's caused by some sort of brain damage.

If there are people who can deny that a limb attached to their body doesn't belong to them then there certainly are people who can insist that men can have children.

I knew a guy who thought like that about his left hand after he was involved in a car wreck. He became so tormented he took his life a couple of years later.
