I got younger relatives that work in tissue mills in WI. They said that the papermill warehouses were so full they could hardly find places to store it.
It was the transportation that was the issue. Rail AND trucking.
The big rig liked to feel the hair on Joe’s legs.
But much of our imports and exports still depend on the California bottleneck that begins with Communist China and ends in Communist California. The red-to-red pipeline has savaged our economy and wrecked imports and exports.

I was in a store in East Tennessee today that had toilet paper/paper towels stacked to the ceiling...clerks had ladders deployed; trying to figure out how high they could safely stack it...it was amazing to see.

When communists take power, they immediately ration almost everything. I’ve mentioned previously this great book by author Shirley Christian “Nicaragua, A Revolution in the Family.”. Before the Sandinista communists took over, there were thriving Farmers Markets in every large and small town in Nicaragua. Farmers would bring their crops to sell and barter. The day after the commies took power, those Farmers Markets were illegal, and all food, and food production, belonged to ‘the people’ (government). They even limited the availability of paper, thus silencing any opposition. They openly bragged about the freedom of the press, while denying the paper.
SloJo, Obama, and Kalifornia democRATS cannot, yet, confiscate everything, so they are accomplishing the same result with their current government-created Port logjams.
Disgusting, evil.
Before the truckers it was meat lockers and small butcher shops.

Some shelves in my store are empty. Gone also are most of the aisle tables and special bulk sale items.
Less shelves with less on them. It might be different items and different shelves each week, but it is constant.
The worse it gets, the more panic buying will set in and all the shelves will be empty.
