Texas Republicans pass voting maps that entrench power of whites (barf)

Texas Republicans are on the verge of enacting new voting maps that would entrench the state’s Republican and white majority even as its non-white population grows rapidly.

Texas Republicans approved the congressional plan on Monday evening, sending it to Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, who is expected to sign the measure.

The Texas maps offer perhaps the most brazen effort in the United States so far this year to draw new district lines to benefit one political party, a practice called gerrymandering. The proposed congressional map would blunt growing Democratic strength in the Texas suburbs. Texas Republicans already have a 23-13 seat advantage in the state’s congressional delegation and the new maps would double the number of safe GOP congressional seats in the state from 11 to 22, according to the Washington Post.

It is OK for dems to gerrymander, but when repubs do the same it is racist.

The majority of democrats are white, so they must be a racist party

Suck it up, losers. I know you’re not used to the other side playing hardball, but this is what it feels like to be on the receiving end of how you play every day. You’re the ones that launched this titanic of an administration. Prepare the face the consequences

Some Hispanic areas are going red. The dems don’t like that.

Texas Republicans already have a 23-13 seat advantage

Hmmm...I wonder how many times they wrote articles crying about the 45-8 rat gerrymander in Kalifornia???

Translation in to common English:
Texas refuses to create minority enclaves to insure a DemonicRat majority seat.

Calling INVADERS from other countries the “POPULATION” of the state is the first major error.

See, an “Independent” board draws the lines in CA. Of course, there’s no “Independent board” that draws lines to favor anything other than Demonrats. A similar board draws a majority of seats for the minority Demonrats in Arizona.

Also, pay no attention to the gerrymandering of Republicans out of office in Colorado, Connecticut (no Republicans elected since 2006), Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland (GOP shrunk to a single seat out of 8), Massachusetts (no Republicans elected since 1994(!)), New Mexico, New York, North Carolina (stolen GOP seats by Demonrat courts illegally), Oregon (1 seat out of 5 for 26 years), Pennsylvania (5 GOP seats stolen by a rogue Demonrat State Supreme Court), Rhode Island (no Republican elected since 1992), and the present theft of Virginia.

Democrats should be ok with this map, GOP played it pretty safe, they could have been more aggressive and maybe squeezed a couple more seats.

I’m pretty happy with the map though, several suburban seats were vulvernable, now they aren’t, we should gain a seat for a Hispanic Republican and another will be possible in future if South Texas Hispanics keep moving our way. The trade off is rats get to keep Collin Aldred and Lizzie Fletcher.
