Ohio Special Election Could Set Tone for 2022 Midterm Elections

While we are almost a year away from the midterms, a special election in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District this November may provide important insights into what we can expect in 2022. The 15thdistrict typically favors Republicans who have about a 9-point advantage in voter registration, but pro-life Republican Mike Carey is facing a strong opponent in EMILY’s List-backed State Representative Allison Russo (D).

Mike Carey is pro-life, and he is endorsed by National Right to Life and Ohio Right to Life PAC. He supports commonsense laws to protect unborn children and their mothers, and he opposes the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions.

“As a father, I believe that life is precious and must be protected. It’s unconscionable that the Democrats caved to Planned Parenthood and excluded the Hyde Amendment from their $1.9 trillion spending bill, allowing your tax dollars to fund abortions,” Mike Carey states on his campaign website.

By contrast, Allison Russo supports a policy of abortion on demand, which would allow abortion for any reason throughout pregnancy. Russo also supports using taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions. She earned the endorsement of EMILY’s List, a DC-based pro-abortion fundraising machine that doles out hefty sums of money for candidates who embrace their radical abortion-without-limits agenda.

Following the passage of pro-life laws in states like Texas and Oklahoma, abortion advocates and their allies in the mainstream media have declared that pro-abortion voters are motivated unlike ever before. Yet despite this supposed momentum on their side, their chosen candidate in the Ohio special election has largely chosen to stay mum on the issue.

Early voting is underway now. Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd.

‘If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.’

Someone ask Dominion what the final vote totals will be. Save us time and money of the election.

Don’t be taken in if the fraud is limited and the pubbie wins. This was the way they handled it in 2020. They did not tip their hand on the coming massive fraud over a throwaway special election or two.

Trump won Ohio 53/45.
That seems legit to me.

Most of the counties in the 15th district don’t use Dominion (only 2 do). Regardless, this is one district which people needn’t be overly pessimistic about no matter how much money Democrats throw at their shrill feminist candidate. Nothing is guaranteed until the votes are counted of course, but this is Ohio — not Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona or Georgia.

The Columbus portion of CD 15 is marginal but winnable (the worst parts of the city aren’t in this district), Athens is just a bunch of brainwashed college punkies & their pinko professors who don’t cast a very large proportion of the district’s votes, and the rest of the area is about as true blue (note proper color usage) Republican as can be. If Republican turnout is anything other than rock-bottom here, it should be a fairly easy win, knock on wood.

Unlike PA, MI, GA, AZ, nd NV, it's extremely difficult to commit election fraud in Ohio. We have the best voting system in the nation, with voter ID required, absentee voting by written request only and signature verification for every returned ballot. Ballot harvesting is illegal and virtually impossible to conduct. Every election is verified by hand counting, and every provisional ballot must be verified and voted on by the Board, which consists of four Board Members, two GOP and two Democrat, with three votes required for approval.

The best way to elect Democrats is for Republicans to sit at home because of allegations of voter fraud; it's literally political suicide.

Mike Carey was endorsed by President Trump. That’s how he won the Republican primary.

The counting will follow the slow delayed Iowa Primary counting script.

You are so right. There's a lot of self-defeating negativity on the board recently.

Libs and Dems tell us to stop overpopulating the nation, but then they allow illegals here by the thousands per day. I’d say they have a pretty effective population replacement strategy working for them

So if the district is +9 in Republican registration and Republicans have held the seat for 52 out of the last 54 years then why does this set the tone for 2022?

“commonsense laws”

A meaningless term that politicians on both sides love.
