Trump urged GOP senators to vote against McConnell debt deal

Former President Trump is urging GOP senators to vote against a deal that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) struck with his Democratic colleagues in the upper chamber to raise the debt ceiling.

“Republican Senators, do not vote for this terrible deal being pushed by folding Mitch McConnell. Stand strong for our Country," Trump said in an emailed statement Thursday. “The American people are with you!”

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced Thursday morning that he had reached an agreement with McConnell to raise the debt ceiling into the beginning of December.

The agreement would increase the debt limit by $480 billion. Aides expect that will make the next deadline Dec. 3, the same day government funding will expire.

McConnell confirmed the deal with Democrats during a floor speech on Thursday, saying: "The Senate is moving toward the plan I laid out last night to spare the American people from an unprecedented crisis.”

“The pathway our Democratic colleagues have accepted will spare the American people any near-term crisis,” McConnell added.

As part of the deal offered by McConnell, Republicans would help to expedite the reconciliation process if Democrats raised the debt ceiling through the process on their own.

The process of budget reconciliation allows Senate Democrats to pass legislation through the upper chamber by a simple majority without GOP support, bypassing the legislative filibuster.

Thursday evening, 11 GOP senators voted with Democrats to advance the short-term debt limit extension. The upper chamber voted 61-38, a tally that advances the increase to final passage in the upper chamber. None of the Republican senators are expected to support the increase during the final vote.

This is not the first instance of blowback that McConnell has received from Trump over the debt ceiling deal. He accused the majority leader of "folding" to Democrats on Wednesday.

“Looks like Mitch McConnell is folding to the Democrats, again,” Trump said in a statement. “He’s got all of the cards with the debt ceiling, it’s time to play the hand. Don’t let them destroy our country!”

Mitch McConnell just loaded the magazine for congress to shoot his voters in the back.

“Let’s go Brandon”

We see who runs the GOP and it’s not Trump. Trump is a fool for playing the game and staying with the Uniparty (R). I’ve said it since 1/7 and I’m proven right every day, Trump needs to renounce the GOP and form the Workers MAGA Party. As long as Trump stays with these hacks he will continue to be rolled, played and destroyed.

I think we all pretty much agree with you in principle. The
problem is, it’s not all that easy to develop a new party
and hit the ground running.

First of all, you have to get on the ballot in fifty states.
Sounds easy. It’s not. There’s a whole new apparatus that
has to be set up. It could to two to three election cycles
to get a good strong foundation in place.

Then you have the problem of having no allies in Congress.

Rs and Ds will outnumber you for five to ten years.

The Rs might die off early, but you might be looking at
a decade of minority status in the House and Senate.

It’s pretty tough no matter what you do. And the RP is
not Conservatism’s friend.

I'm for voting out every RINO who must face a primary in 2022 and replacing them with fearless patriots. If everyone with an (R) after their name fought for the people, the Republican party would be unstoppable. Let's make it happen in 2022. Make the RINOs start their own party. Make them build up the infrastructure from nothing. Make them have to get enough signatures to be on the ballot in all states.

So vote out the RINOs in the 2022 primaries and make them start their own party and go through all the travails you listed.

The uniparty would tear up a nationalistic “workers” party on the name alone.

I just saw Graham on Hannity. I have steam coming out of my ears and tearing up in absolute ANGER in the fear for my boys. Not me. THEIR futures. And their chances of having a family.

That attitude is how we end up living in a budding socialist police state. The one opportunity to accomplish a real SECOND party could have been realized shortly after the coup. Had Trump denounced the DC GOP as coconspirators in the coup, he would have hit the ground running with the greatest number of individual supporters in US history. You, me, most of 80+ million would have been mobilized. We had a chance. Now the regime and its GOP allies have consolidated control and are in the process of unleashing all the state’s internal security assets against us and any other political threat they perceive. Trump, playing patty cake with these Judases, only makes the process so much easier for them.

Let’s be honest here … Trump would have far more credibility if he had demonstrated any fiscal responsibility himself as President.

Do yourself a favor and turn off the stupid TV.

No offense, but it takes a special kind of stupid to get angry and upset over something you see on a Fox News show that’s aimed at an audience with an IQ of 90.

I don’t know why people here on FR insist that Trump has a core base of support of 80 million voters.

He doesn’t.

He probably has 25-30 million dedicated supporters. The rest of the 80 million who voted for him are really just GOP partisans who voted the party line and probably would have preferred another candidate if that option was available.

They couldn’t do any worse than what they’ve done to MAGA. Quite frankly, I done care what the globalist antiworker Uniparty has to say about it. The middle and lower class workers, like me, would understand. What do you suggest, the Hey, we’re not officially running as leftist globalists, we only govern that way party?
